It is a good way to get ride of weapon grade uranium.

uhmmmm.... weeeellll... you know, I'd argue that mankind doesn't really NEED to use nuclear weapons either.

There are 2 major things that needs to be done in order to get rid of nuclear power...

Do you know how much weapon grade uranium there is? my dad is working on a contract with russia to get some for the plant. The only other ways to get ride of the uranium would be, a nuclear bomb...or wait ten thousand years.

If you get ride of nuclear power plants i will hunt you down, both my parents will have lost jobs.

Clean energy would not provide enough power for the whole planet, think of none windy, and nonsunny places.

Yucca mountain was also chossen to preserve the enviroment. Right now they are sitting a few feet beneath the water, with ducks swimming everywhere. :qb: Also they are barring them extremly deep, I don't know the exact depth off the top of my head.

They have already tested nuclear explosions underground, obviously the rock can take some stress.

BTW there have only been a very few nuclear plant problems, even less evactuations, and only deaths in some of the accedents. (this threads start)

I seriously doubt that's the case, even at this moment, and I'm sure it won't be in the future.

Well, I guess that settles it.
Drangonsile's parents would lose their jobs, so the rest of us and the entire ecosystem are just going to have to suffer.
You should be ashamed for even typing that.
They can get jobs working the drive-through at McDonald's, for all I care, and they'd certainly get more of my respect if they did, but I somehow doubt they'd end up there.

Propaganda and faulty logic.

Propaganda.
It was chosen because they had to come up with a location quickly, and they knew they'd have the easiest time screwing over the people of that area.

That was so poorly worded, I'm not sure I know what you were trying to say.

You're assuming we know about all of them, which I assure you we don't.
Not that it matters.
You can't use a few decades of statistics on nuclear power (even if they were accurate, which they're not) to say that it's safe and will remain safe.
And we know that the storage and transportation is unsafe, therefore we should stop adding to the problem immediately, instead of hoping everything will be ok and we'll figure it out eventually.

Both russia and the US have several nuclear bombs, and asre slowly dismantleing them. There is quiet abet of uranium in each bomb.

So being concered for my parents, and not wanting them to lose there jobs like those poor people bush screwed is wrong, If you are agianst nuclear power so much, stop using it. Don't use your computer, don't cook, don't use pumps to get water, don't use lights, don't use heaters/AC, don't use garage doors, don't use...?
Would you been angry if i suddenly made both your parents jobs illegal? would you be mad? would you want revenge? Would you be justified in that anger?

It was chosen because they could dig deep, and people aren't to close to it, unlike most mountains.

The current way to safly store nuclear waste is put them under a few feet of water. With ducks swimming in it.

In the mountain they can dig deep down to barry them.

Look up nuclear power plant diasters, you will not find to many different ones.

Actuly it is very safe (as long as the workers pay attention), the reason for so few diasters is that F.E.M.A. has strict safty procedures.

Nuclear waste has a long life, so it would take along time to decay to a point were it is not radioactive.
