Well, I've been trying to get broadband for a long time now but the only possible way to get it is by satellite which really isn't worth the money so for now I'm stuck with dial-up. However, I really want to try a different ISP so that I can get the most out of what I'm stuck with. Any recommendations? I currently have EarthLink and they've been a decent ISP so far, but like I said, I want to explore my options.

try one that gives VSDL. it's faster then dsl, and cable (cable of which I have right now).

Hm. I recommend going to ISP sites, then check if its available in your area. :)

Well I've been to every single broadband site I could think of and even some of the smaller ones that aren't known and nothing. As far as dial-up, I know that all the major ones have access numbers in my area because I live in a fairly populated county but I'm in an isolated portion of it so no luck.

What I really want are just some recommendations of ISPs that people have liked. I've been looking into SBC Yahoo Dial but I can't find any review sites...

I'm in Canada, and some popular/good ones that I'd recommend to someone are:

Rogers
Bell Sympatico

Have you tried asking your neighbors what they're using, what they've used in the past, why they switched, etc?
Might be a pain, but it might be a good way to get the info. :/

fused, if you have cable or satellite, try getting broadband for them, since it comes in on the same signal.... but you could always go for net zero or earthlink.

Im ust not've been clear enough. Time Warner does run cable out here but the RoadRunner and EarthLink lines don't come out this far so I can't get cable. DSL is available through my phone company but I live more than 18000 ft. from my Central Office so I can't get DSL either.

And I've tried NetZero before, complete crap. :X

And I have EarthLink Dial now but I want to see some more ISPs that other people have liked.

Hope that cleared up my first post. :)

I have and I know that they at least 1 local access number. I would like to try it maybe but I'm not sure since I haven't read many opinions on it.
