Heya! I've got a bit of a problem, it's non-invisionfree related, but it's to do with my computer, and I hope it's ok to post all this in here, but I was wondering if anyone had had the same problem or could offer me any advice? Basically I recently updated my version of Windows Media Player and ever since, whenever I try to play a C.D or play a track I saved onto Media Player I get the message "Windows Media Player Had Encountered A Problem And Needs To Close." Then the choise whether to send an error report or not and all that . Anywho - I tried un-installing the new version and got my old one back - only to discover that I still have the same problem! So I tried installing Real Player - but that was a waste of time, as whenever I put in the C.D I still get the same message only for Real Player! Can anyone help, as I'm really missing playing my C.Ds on the computer now! Also if there's a clip on the net I want to watch etc I can't do that either and I get the message that 'Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.' Thanks for listening - hope I'm posting in the right place! DD xx |

check your sound drivers are working correctly, is your computer playing noises like those on IM systems etc? if not it is likely you messed up your drivers. |

Well when the computer first logs on it plays the log-on music (the little tune thing!) fine and last time I was on msn it all seemed to be playing the little tune when you get a new message? :/ |

do a system restore. make sure it goes back to before you pdated or whatever you did. then you shouldnt get none of those retarted messages. ( i have had any problems since i did my system restore) or do what i do, when it says it needs to close put it at the very bottom of the page and everything should keep going right up until you press send error or whatever it says. |

Winamp is good, and I prefer it over the others, especially Real Player, since all things Real are crap and the company is evil and needs to go out of business, but she (I'm assuming "she" by the name..) is having the same issue with both Real Player and Windows Media Player, so it doesn't sound like the player is the issue. :/ |

Yep. The only difference I know of between the paid and free version is that you can burn cd's with the paid version. I've yet to meet anyone with the paid version though, so maybe there's more to it.

Ok, downloaded Winamp and put in a C.D and *touch wood* it seems to be playing fine - with no error messages!! :w00t: One thing though - I sometimes watch videos on the Yahoo site Launch, but have been having trouble doing that lately for some reason, as whenever I try I get the error message, only for Internet Explorer. Anyway - am so releaved to finally be playing a C.D on the computer! Thankyou to all who helped out - it's much appreciated! xx |
