A school computer's sole purpose is for cirricular activities only. Not for games/chat or anything relating outside actual schoolwork.

Our school is great. You can access anything via the VB editor in MSword, connect to other pcs with telnet, spoof emails, connect to servers, modify the C drive (I installed Flash MX 2004 on my home directory for just over a month).

And best of all, if you shove an NTFS boot disk in the drive, you can get a thing called a "SAM file" off the C drive. It contains the local passwords. Not much good on a network, eh? WRONG! The admin acount (overlord) is set as local admin on all machines...so if you log onto the machine rather than the network, you can simply decrypt the SAM file and get the admin pass...then start playing around.

They aren't going to sue him, unless of course he has done a malicious act of which destroyed many many computers or even worse, the schools server. The worse they can do is suspend his account and ban him from ever using the computers again. Remember, you can only sue if the person in question has done an act which has caused some damage either physically or financially.

I never said -I- did this, I'm just saying it can be done...some other people did it. I had no knowledge of it whatsoever... :r

sue the school cus they suspended their son because he mis-used school property? If he got expelled for doing that, sure, there may be grounds for suing but not if they suspended him.
Even if they allow students to install and play games during lunch hour, the student should also delete the programs before their time is up.

i...dont think anyone would be dumb enough to actually make it a full fledged legal case...it's not that big of a deal you know?

and please, just let this topic die off now, everything's over, theres no more point in me complaining anymore, and i realy dont wanted to be reminded of this matter right about now. i would post our final meeting (recording) up, but that would involve privacy matters for both the vice principle and me, so no.

I was suspended from school for accessing "inappropriate" drives on the computer, and storing games on there....god, i even studied the bloody network contract before hand to make sure they cant nail me, but NO, they had to find some stupid exuse....they said i was disrupting other people's usage of the computer, when i did not modify ANY of their files.....they said that due to me putting games in there, and this other guy distributing the shortcuts that are not too easy to get, people played games during class , thus disturbing their using the computer....like HELL! they played due to their OWN choice!

and whats more?

after being suspended in accordance to the so called
"school act", i have done my research and found that there is actually no such thing as the School Act.

the only thing near what they are suggesting is this:

----------
Canada School of Public Service Act

1991, c. 16
----------

but it is not the act in which they referred to, because the short
title of this act is:

----------
SHORT TITLE

1. This Act may be cited as the Canada School of Public Service Act.

1991, c. 16, s. 1; 2003, c. 22, s. 22.
----------

I am so upset right now...
shows how stupid the administration are...

Upset or not, watch the language. Minor as it may be :yoda:
yea ok yoda, but please dont replace the ******* with upset, im not the kind of person that gets upset. and i dont think thats a swear word either...or is it just me?

Change it again and school won't be the only place you're suspended from //S

don't worry. :D HELL AND GOD are not a nice thing to say either.sorry fpr saying a** my friends said that. :zenith:
