I wouldn't say it has a reputation for being dangerous. :/

Yea the story started out as 3 gothic kids entering the mall through Best Buy and Filenes with shotguns and semi-automatic weapons injuring 8-10 people, but it turns out it was just one male age 24 who entered the mall through Best Buy with a AK-47 that did not have a full clip. He was caught by mall employees on his way into the hallway outside of Best Buy when he ran out of bullets and only one person was injured in the attack.

Yup very good thing.

It's something like what my chem teacher told me. This happened years ago, keep that in mind.

There was these 3 guys about 17 or so years old and then needed money for prom. So what do they do? They rob a Burger King(tm) in a mall. They hold it up with a BB gun and get how much money? $45....

Now after they rob the place they run out and stop halfway in the mall. They start fighting really loud over how to divide up $45. The security gaurd comes over to tell them to keep it down and the manager of burger king comes out and tells the guard to arrest them.

Sorry for the long story but I was comparing the stupidity. :ermm:

You have to admit that New York has a reputation of being dangerous. I don't brag about living in the moss state.

It does have a reputation from the past which has diminished somewhat over the years, but if people are silly enough to think that a reputation is worth the paper it's printed on then that proves a lack of maturity and common sense - and perhaps the ability to think for yourself :r

I can think of far worse places, besides NY is pretty safe. My flatmate used to walk the streets at night for blocks on end without even so much as a whisper of trouble. ^_^

Hope the guy who got shot in the leg is ok. Rgith place, wrong time I guess. :/
Unless he was security.

AK-47?
I thought it sale of assult weapons was prohibited there. (of course, it doesn't stop them from smuggling it in >_<)
Its a good thing it wasn't a ful clip, or it would have turned out like this.

Sure anyone can really bring in a gun illigally, also check how old that story was. If it was awhile ago that could be why.

New York CITY has a bit of a bad rep. In case you haven't looked at a map, NYC is in a state called New York, that happens to have other cities in it. Nice cities. Normal Cities. So try not to stereotype some place you know nothing about, eh? ;)

The person who was shot in the leg was one of the visiting members of the coast guard. When they heard about the shoting on the other side of the mall, they ran down there to help out the cituation and one of them was shot.

The law was around for quite a while, but now expired. >_< (But it is still vaild in Connecticut, NJ, and NY :w00t:)
Was there even a motive, or was the motive walking around and shooting things? They should have known better, since security is tighter and they would have been apprehended anyway. :/

NY doesn't have that bad of a rep. NYC does, but not NY.
NY is quite peaceful. ^_^ You don't see guys with guns everywhere you see.

Is it just me or is there a lack of maturity in this topic. I mean people were shot and all most of you care about is blaiming New York and bragging about how where you live is so much safer. That's kinda sick... <_<

all i was pointing out was that there IS a higher crime rate in the USA than Canada due to the fact that almost everyone has guns.

Almost everyone? Hahaha, I don't think so. Try checking your facts first, eh?
