As some of you may know, they are trying to pass a bill allowing gay couples to get married.

What is your take on this?

I am not sure this topic will be here very long. It could be considered 'edgy'. Now that I am done with that. I think homosexuals should do what ever they want as long as I don't see it.

Well, i didn't really ment for it to be 'edgy'. As long as people don't go flaming other it should be fine (IMO).

Well, i'll have to agree with you, that they should be allowed to be together, as long as no priests are forced to marry them.

Does that include kissing and basically being romantic? Wanna blindfold? :/

I'm not gonna go into heavy reasons since this will be closed just like any topic that might cause problems but naturally I'm all for it. :)

By they you mean activist judges who legislate from the bench in Massachusettes?

Aweful idea. What good is gained by letting them marry? Wasting our tax dollars giving them benefits designed for making is easier to raise children?

What is the point in letting straight people marry? It should be a basic human right as far as i'm concerned.

But you're not thinking then. Straight people can marry so that it's easier to raise children.

Compared to wasting billions every year on nueclear weapons, military needs and war?

*sigh* Why are you people so narrow minded?

There's no need to marry to raise children Gogf, you're the one not thinking. My mother was single and raised three kids.

But it's much easier if there are two parents.

Also, the point is that the marriage tax benefits are for the purpose of raising children.

Perhaps in Canada married couples don't get tax breaks. I don't know, I don't live in Canada, but somehow I doubt that.

Again not true. Do you know anything about parenting?

Single mother raised three kids who all have pretty good jobs, are good people and are open to anything compared to a couple I know who beat their kids, drove one of them to suicide and one to prison.

I'm not saying that a married couple can't be good parents, but it isn't necessary to be married and can in fact be better in some cases.

And I'm saying that you don't have to be married to raise kids. But, if a couple has children, marriage is designed to make raising them easier, and less of an economic burden.

but, if two homosexual people married, they wouldn't get tax benifits for kids (unless they adopted)

I just think gay marriage is wrong. Marriage is meant for a man and woman.
