I just added this to my site since I support AMD. Its not a copywrited image I do not think because I see no copyright lable on it.

Is it against the TOS? I do not want my site flushed!

Well then i think its will be fine BUT try to put in a " credit " page where you say Whether page's picture (the picture) is taken from AMD.com and you link it there and it shouldn't be too much a problem

*sigh* You clearly know nothing about copyright. :rolleyes:
Copyright signs are, in fact, merely a way of publicly stating something is copyrighted and owned. You do not need it.

Copyright is a protection that covers published and unpublished literary, scientific and artistic works, whatever the form of expression, provided such works are fixed in material form. This means anything written (posts), designed (graphics) or planned can be copyrighted.

Technically your material is copyrighted the instance you save it to your computer, however online if it does not have copyright notice then it can easily be stolen and difficult to prove. By adding "Copyright © 2003 Jay Hudson" I would officially have copyrighted the image. It really is just a safety measure.

Research = :seth:
Owned[/color]
So yes, that image is copyrighted. No copyright text just means that it wasn't added in but it is still copyright to the maker/owner. But it sounds like you're free to use it so long as you grant proper notice about who owns it.

My post says nothing about "maybe" because there is no maybe about it. :rolleyes:

Images, text, etc is automatically copyrighted when it is created. Copyright text is ONLY a security measure in case anyone tries to steal it. It does not mean that the image/text/plan is copyrighted and that without it it is not.

No copy-righted text =/=(not equal) Not copyrighted
No copy-righted text =(might be) copyrighted

False. There is no maybe about it, any image you find on the net is copyrighted. Whether the owner enforces copyright to certain degrees is different.

Precisely. ^_^

For example, you make an image. Adding in copyright text simply makes it easier for people to see it's yours. If you see an image copyright to someone named "Joe" on a sight clearly owned by someone named "Pete" then the image is obviously not there (whether they have approval to use it or not is another thing). Without that text, however, Pete could easily claim it to be his. So it adds as an online security measure. I *think* if you have something paid to be copyrighted then you also have to add it in but I'm not too sure. Paid copyright and free copyright are different since paid gives you legal rights and schtuff.

This link is a really good place to find out about copyright and I think it would actually help people not too sure about violating copyright laws. It explains it in a clear manner about the basics and more, mainly regarding free copyright.
