I vote C++. Recently I started learning it, although my interest has flagged somewhat and I'm not actively pursuing it. However, C++ is probably the best language to use, it combines the power of the C language with object-oriented-programming. Complicated? Yes. I haven't tried other languages, such as Visual Basic or Java, but when I was making the decision of which programming language to learn first, I decided on C++.Neither JavaScript nor VBScript will be useful, both are just client-side languages useful for running on a website.

A lot of games are programmed with C++ The online game I play "Americas Army" is brilliantly done via C++. (it's not a pushover game I might add...its funded and sanctioned by the actual US Army so...hehe) |

C++ rocks. If you're looking for a visual environment, use Borland C++ Builder of MS Visual C++. Builder's setup is soooo much better than MS's compiler. |

c++ is the most powerful. It is reconmended for doing big projects such as MMORPG (Massive Multi-Player Online Role Playing Game) But if it is a small project use something easier. |
