FireFox and Panda Titanium 2005

hey, i've been using firefox ( duh ) and it works very well, though sometimes it seems to slow down a bit?

anyway, my father activated the Panda Titanium 2005 Firewall, and since then FireFox has been going extremely slow.
so i tried shutting off the firewall and firefox is working as fast as it was.

is anyone else having trouble using firefox and the Panda Firewall? if so, any tips, anyway to make it both work at the same time, or any recommended other firewall ( no other browser! FF PWNS! )?

thx in advance :)

I like Panda. Runs fine with 512mb RAM and 2.17Ghz processor. Dunno about how to speed it up, but it's my fave antivirus :P

Thats something new, FF giving you adware.. :P

Anyway, if you are going to use another ZoneAlarm, you should disable Panda's firewall.. :)

There is a distinct possibility.

However, it is also very likely IE gives you more :P

i dont know much but i do know that FF gives less spyware adware and that crap than IE.

ZoneAlarm, is it free download or must i buy it at the shop? ( *chaozo googles now but asks anyway )

EDIT:

for any downloads like zonealarm, get it from www.download.com it has one of the largest databases for downloads around for software and is guaranteed to be safe.

panda actually ruined my buddies computer hehe. would lock it up before you could log into windows. i had to reformat the bugger. worked fine on mine.

in all honesty no one truly needs a firewall OR virus or spyware protection. its where you are surfing that gets you into trouble.

try this post "making firefox faster out to see if it helps firefox speed up when the firewall is on. also look around on google to see what ports you should open on your firewall to allow firefox the best access.

anti-vir is a great free virus protection program better than ALOT of ones you have to pay for. little slow because its overly thourough but i guess it would help for the unsafe user. darn people not being smart with computers OR the internet...>.<

Maybe I don't understand what you mean... but if you're online (even if you are not surfing) it's like having your front door open for everyone to come inside... maybe noone will, but it could also be that some thief or vandal will walk right in and have some fun on your expense... ALWAYS protect your computer with a firewall, unless you're on a network with a physical firewall :ermm: (and even then it could still be a good idea...)

I've been using Zonealarm (the free version) for a long time and it works like a charm, no conflicts with Firefox either :)
I got it from here: http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/cata....jsp?lid=nav_za
