Keyword(s) being 20 seconds. =P

Invisionfree is very, very secure. Which turns off most of the script-kiddie hackers you see today. And the few that really can hack..well, I doubt they'd do it-it'd be a waste of time, and I can almost bet Duffman has everything [to a certain date] backed up somewhere.

While everything on the internet IS hackable, that doesn't mean it can be hacked. I COULD blow up a army base-does that mean I'll be able to or want to? Nope. =P

Great, now they'll be running over to secure IF. Just what we've always wanted. :)

9,000 boards?! That's crazy. How can 9,000 boards be affected by one attack? Crazy. Well, it teaches ezBoard to get security. You know the Internet can be a VERY dangerous place to be if you're not careful.

I have heard hackers single-handlingly bring down the internet...the WHOLE internet..fora bout 20 seconds...XD

OMFG, if you believe that then you really deserve to be hacked.

You cannot bring down the internet, because it is not all in one place. The internet doesn't exist, it is just a name for the connection of many servers and computers (with different IP addresses, in case you didn't know), so if you cracked one IP address, you could only take down every site on that server, which depending on what the server is (i.e. personal or business) it could be anything from one website to a hundred, out of the billions and billions that exist.

The internet is not hackable (or even crackable), but servers (i.e. websites) are.

Don't believe any sources that tell you things like that. If someone if very careful about security, like Brandon, then they will not get hacked. It is only people who get lax about security because they are so big and have not been hacked ever since they started many years ago that they deem themselves un-hackable, like EZBoards might have done.

Indeed. But if a hacker wants to get in, they will. Trust me on this. I have heard hackers single-handlingly bring down the internet...the WHOLE internet..fora bout 20 seconds...XD

If a hacker wants to get in, they won't always succeed. And that thing about the internet, the keyword here is that you heard that it happen. Possibly it did, though you should back it up with some information.

No one knows who actually made the attack. That's why there is a $5,000 reward for anyone with any information.

People not the bold italic word. If isn't hackable it is crackable.

Did Brandon himself state these words?
If so, give me the url to the thread where he states so.

Where's the proof that it cannot ever be hacked?

Yes.
No.

Too lazy to give it to you.

IF is ammune from hacking, but cracking it isn't.

Well... you have to have physical access to Brandon's computer to even access the servers.

*shrugs*

For most hackers, that's not to hard (IP address works wonders. But this is from an unreliable source...of a few friends that I know that can hack).

But anyways, I do feel sorry for EzBoard. Biggest and oldest is correct. But hopefully they can fully recover and get things moving smoothly again

No no. What part of physical don't you understand. It must be his computer connecting.

So how come ezboard didn't make themselves as secure as IF? It seems pretty sensible to make it so you actually need to be on the Admin's computer...

Well you are just the exception to every rule. So you don't count. You are an anomaly. :eh:

Sorry to hear about EzBoard. One of my first forums was there (along with the old Network54, bbboy and other companies), and it's sad such a thing could happen.

Hope they catch who did it.

They are offering $5,000 for the information on who did it.
