What are the main differences between the separate Distros. also Parent Linux distros.

mainly what are the differences between, KDE, Gnome2, and Debian.

also what are the differences between SuSe, Mandrake, Redhat, Ubuntu, Slackware, and Fedora Core 3?

1) http://support.invisionfree.com/index.php?...dpost&p=3292019

2) KDE and Gnome are the two major window managers. KDE is more Windows-ish, with lots of eye-candy. Gnome is more subtle and clean, Mac-like. Debian is a distro.

3) See 1.

Mac-like.

Mac-like?

Are you sure you don't want to rethink that answer?

Macs haven't been 'subtle and clean' since the turn of the century.

If you're not sure, go for Ubuntu.

They'll send you free CDs as well if you want them (free shipping as well).

Gentoo is not good for newbies. SuSE is, but Debian children just blow everybody away on package management.
