Some more good programs:

SpywareBlaster
SpywareGuard
HijackThis

I'd only recommend HijackThis if you're an advanced user, it lists everything that could be spyware; this includes non-spyware related items too.

MS Antispyware is one of THE BEST programs out there right now. it has a worldwide data setup that as soon as a new threat is recognised on YOUR PC, it allows you to send it to their data center, which in turn, tests it, defines it as a new threat and sends out a patch within hours of it being discovered.

it is AMAZING

stay away from grisoft and AVG. i thought it would be good even if it was free. its good for all the stuff that affected computers months ago.

its actually a REALYL bad antivirus program. the only good free one is Anti-VIr from freeav.com

otherwise, pony up the 20-40 dollars for Trend Micro's PC-Cillan 2005 its one of the best antivirus out there. and yes, it IS rated better than McAffe ASWELL as Norton
