Here's how I want it to be...

1. It does not let unregistered member take the quiz.
2. It records the results of the quizes members take.
3. It lets the member take the quiz only once.
4. It has timer (as much as possible) that would automatically shut off the test when the taker exceeded the specified time.

I know, it's hard, but can anyone do it?

If you are talking about for a website, and not for a forum, then this is the correct place.

Can anyone help me find a site that would host a Harry Potter quiz. I want it to be free as much as possible. WE are currently in the OWLS year so we need to have quizes and such. Those who are HP fans would understand. Unfortunately, Invisionfre cannot provide this thing.

Here's the description of the site Im lookng for.
1. It does not let unregistered member take the quiz.
2. It records the results of the quizes members take.
3. It lets the member take the quiz only once.
4. It has timer (as much as possible) that would automatically shut off the test when the taker exceeded the specified time.

I know, this is hard but does any of you kow a site like this? I'd really be thankful.

So it seems to be for an IF Board.

But this would require much PHP (or other server-side scripting language), plust JavaScript to get cookies to check if the user is logged in and also JavaScript to create the timer......There would also need to be some "bending of computer limits" involved, but I "bend the limits" all the time :P

So unless you are at least mildly literate in PHP, JavaScript, AND HTML, it will be hard to teach you. And this is the kind of thing that someone can't just make for you. They need to give you the code, but you'd have to implement it.

Why would you let JS check for cookies?
PHP can do that to, and I'd say it would be more secure.

@ Tears_of_Phoenix:
You would need a server that supports PHP.
(And MySQL would be a huge plus)
If you have that, it shouldn't be that hard to make.
(Or well, possible anyway :P )

Yes, it's for an IF board. But it seems IF cannot support it so I'll have it implanted on an outside site and just provide my members with the link.

All I need are codes and some instructions of how to put them in my website. I can surely implement them. I am a willing student and had some experience with codes. I am familiar with them, though not expert. If I am, then I could have done the codes myself. We'll anyone help me? I need the codes, please. IMP, will you do it?

Qj, my server supports PHP, don't worry.

And by the way Veritech, Thank you soooo much!

If you have MySQL (Or another SQL) on your server as well, I'm willing to take a shot at it.
The timer will have to be done by somebody else though.
I suck at JS :P

anybody who can do php, i advise for the timer just having a meta refresh, and then have it realise that it has already been done. (maybe even a redirect), tht could be a way of not using js, then just a little clock could be made.

Well.. you would make the clock in JS right?
So then, I'd say: make the redirect in JS to.
(You never know, some browser might just not make the seconds equally long for HTML and JS :P )

Not possible. If the cookies were set from an IF board (which the member IDs were), then they were set on the IF server. The quiz PHP codes themselves are on a different server. Therefore, the only way you can get the IF cookies is by code on the IF board, and since PHP does not work actually on the IF board, you need to use JS.
