The PS2 defenitly won the current gen war. Just look at the sales, in Japan it still keeps going and going, i'm starting to think everyone must have 2 or more of 'em by now  .

And i think the PS2's the best of the current gen as well, it has alot of games i like and the controller fits me most.

But overall the SNES still beats all others IMO, it was an awesome console, LOVED alot of games of it.

By the time the 360 will launch ( wich is getting closer, finally i get to check it out properly :C: ) the PS2s popularity will surely drop alot, and when the PS3 will come you can already say buh-bye to yer PS2.

but hey, that's the way it goes...

It seems Nintendo Entertainment System(NES) dosn't want to die. There is people making many clones. In the late 70's and early 80's Atari, Mattel, and Coleco were in head of the game. But then in then in 1983 there was a video game crash. Then in 1985 Nintendo came out with the most popular video game console EVER, the NES. Thanks to it's release Sega came out with the Sega Master System(SMS) and Atari re-introduced it's 7800, but neather of those consoles even get near as much success as the NES. In 1989 NEC came out with it's own console, the TurboGrafx 16(T-16), witch was 16-bit. No one known it at the time, but the T-16 spelled the end of the days of the NES. Although the T-16 was not to popular, Sega decided to come out with thire own 16-bit console, the Sega Genesis. Although it took a year, Sega was beating the NES in sales in 1990. The next year spelled the end of Atari's console making days. That same year Nintendo came out with the Super Nintendo Entertainment System(SNES). While in Russia thire was NES clones called the Dendy and the Dendy Junior II. In 1993 Nintendo was beating Sega in the 16-bit console race with their SNES, but they wanted to bring back the popularty of the NES back, so the came out with the NES 2. The atempt did not work. The same year Atari re-entered the race with the Atari Jaguar, introduced as the powerful next generation platform. The next year The 3DO Company released thire own console, the 3DO Interactive Multiplayer. Sega needed to kutctup, so they came uo with the Sega Saturn in 1994, yet the less advanced SNES was still first. Sony then that same year launched the PlayStation, forcing Nintendo to release the Nintendo 64 in 1996. After that the NES clone Polystation was released. In the current generation of video games Nintendo released the Classic NES Series on the Game Boy Advance. In the next generation of viseo games the NES clone is the Generation NEX. Nintendo has unveiled it's next console, the Revolution, the Virtual console. You will be able to download old NES games from Nintendo's website. Satoru Iwata refers to this feature as the "Virtual Console". According to a Japanese press release, "all downloaded games will be stored on the 512 [MiB] flash memory built into the system...

And at first glance I thought this was going to be one of those "Is X-Box, PS2, or Gamecube the best?" polls. Whew.

Actually, this is a tough one. Depends, what games would I have for said system? :r Well, I guess my vote goes to Gamecube over SNES or Genesis because they're still making new games for it.

Because people are biased and/or like the games on it and DVD players, I suppose.
