Looking around the web, Ive noticed that the once popular language VRML, or Virtual Reality Modeling Language, has disappeared from the world. In fact, its near impossible to actually find the software required by browsers and computers to view VRML files! Does anyone here besides me know how to program in VRML or even know what VRML is? :geek: |

In other words, a language used to program 3-dimensional models and worlds that can be shown in browsers or as web files. |

To me, it sounds like something that only people like technicians and architects would use, so I'm not really surprised that us "normal" "people" (yes, they had to be quoted seperately) have never heard of it/used it. |

Did you know that you can export files created by Blender3D or Wings 3D to VRML? Here is a list of lots of VRML tutorials.
To render 3D models for the web. Here's a look at Grafman's VRML gallery: http://www.graphcomp.com/vrml/pics.html Yes, the graphics are like early '97 games, but please don't complain, it's an XML-Style language.

the problem with VRML is that it will load the entire file. this is good and bad. mainly because the files it loads are normally fully textured, layored, and extremely memory heavy. and since it is webbased, the files are viewed as a stream and thus....HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lag and bandwidth overflow. |

Its pretty much a retired language seeing how you cant even get any type of VRML reading protocol. Im lucky because not only do I know the language, I also own a pretty good VRML reader that went "missing" a few years later. Its called Cosmo Player. |
