I gave blood about two weeks ago for blood tests. I was trying to fill the viles up as fast as I could. ![]() What...something wrong with that? ![]() ![]() I think organ donation is fine, I don't legal have it written down but I would if it was needed after I was dead. |

I've not joined the organ donar list, a family member still has to verify it even if I did agree (strange system). They can take all my vital organs when I go, wouldn't want my body donated to science tho. As for donating blood, I do that when I can make it. I hate the needles so I don't have an anesthetic (just means another needle), but the number of donors in Scotland is shockingly low so I wont let my country down :D. |

I agree. ![]() We might as well give them to someone who needs them. We're not going to have any use for them. Frozen organs kept in containment for emergencies are a lot more useful than decaying, infested, rotting flesh 6 feet under. |

I think the organ donation is a very important thing that only you can decide. More then likely I will be an organ donor. I agree 100% with what Sam said. |

The only time I felt dizzy after blood was drawn, i chugged a water bottle to fix it. You know they tell you to drink plenty of water if you are going to give blood, right? Seems to work for me. And while I have no problem looking occasionally, I tend to completely look the other way until they finish on a just in case basis. *Stephen has had 10 vials drawn once for testing. :/ Course I got pretzels and water after.

It is hard to drink water if you are puking. ![]() The nurses usually give me some juice after I have a blood test, and that returns me to normal fairly quickly. I also make sure to stare at the wall while they're doing it. Having a friend there helps as well. (I had blood tests every month for about 7 months recently. Had to fast for 12 hours in advance, so that's probably another reason why it made me sick.) @ 10 vials :X

Drinking a lot of water on an empty stomach also makes me queasy. -_- Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Of course, there's the issue of the energy/fuel required to do the cremation, as well as the pollution/greenhouse gasses it creates, and the fact that bypassing the decomposition process robs the Earth of nutrients. Being buried without a casket in an existing open space rather than a cemetary (without being embalmed first) or at sea would be the best ways, short of changing the laws so humans can be used as food again. Not that any person or animal would be well-advised to eat your average toxin-saturated human. Anyway, back to organ donation. Sort of. Some of your comments reminded me of the "Live Organ Transplants" sketch from Monty Python's movie "The Meaning of Life".

I personally wouldnt want to donate my body to somone else. It is saving lifes then it will have to do. But it is not right to take a dead persons parts and put them in somone else :duff: |

Why? Surely if you can save someones life with organs that you no longer need and will rot away (or burn if you're cremated) it's the best thing to do? I'm all for organ donation. I have a donors card. My mum did the same thing, and I'm glad she did. I'm not a greatly spiritual person I guess but I think all you need is a conscience to donate your organs. That and half decent organs.
