I saw Kong last night, and to me it just didn't live up to all the raves it was getting. I had two major problems. 1 - It ended wayyyyy to fast 2 - What happened to the native people? They capture the girl, Kong gets her, and then *poof* they aren't there. Am I missing something here? Anyway it was a good movie, but not great. Has anyone else here seen it? |

It is three hours long. The beging is excesivley(sp?) long, the middle is about right, and the ending is way too fast. |

I haven't seen it. Nor have I seen any 'raving' prior to it's release. I think I saw two commercials. It led me to believe it would come out in a few weeks. Odd. I don't think I plan to see it though, the commercial looked bad enough. :/ I. |

I barely watch TV, and I've probably seen 100 commercials for it. It's been extremely hyped here. During almost all commercial breaks, it would seem. But I agree, the commercial looked bad enough. |

Are you not a fan of action? I only saw this movie, because the preview looked like it was gonna' be full of action. |

Das Ein I think the original story is to blame for the problems you mentioned ![]() I've not watched it, I probably will on DVD though. At least I now know where Peter Jackson got the idea for his Skull Island in Braindead from, hehehe. |

I haven't seen it yet, it looks interesting judging by the cover. I was going to see it but my mom wanted to go watch Chronicles of Narnia instead. Is it probably worth paying to go see or should I wait until it comes out on DVD? The movie is longer than I expected I thought it would be 2 1/2 hours at the most. [off topic]Also, has anyone noticed how much weight Peter Jackson has lost since his first film The Lord of the Rings? |

Yugfreak argh that's blasphemy! Braindead is my favourite film of all time, and he filmed Bad Taste (another well-worn vid in my collection) before that over the course of two years on weekends! There was also that film The Frighteners which for such a lame pretext and Micheal J Fox had its moments. Kong looks good, the CGI looks awesome but I'm gonna wait for the DVD I think. |

*yugfreak90 correct's himself. I ment to say "since his recent film The Lord of the Rings?" I will probably end up going to watch it seeing how Peter Jackson directed The Lord of the Rings and that is my favorite movie of all time, then again I like big Gorillas. ![]() I am sure it will be an good movie with the action and all. |

Not particularly, and especially if it's just action for the sake of action, which it seems is what most films offer these days. The sort of "let's take an old movie/book and use all the latest special effects and add as much action as we can possibly cram into it, MTV-ADHD-style" thing sort of bugs me. At least they stopped short of car chases though, as far as I can tell from the preview.
