The Admin control panel of IF is really better.

IPB's Acp is better.

If you were to say vBulletins ACP then I would agree. ^_^

Compared with IPB 1.3, there is very little difference between the two. Compared with IPB 2.0, then yes, there are lots of changes, but InvisionFree 2 is going to bring a fresh look to the ACP too, which should make it easier to use.

I hope its fresh new ACp, I have had enough with the current one.

Hmmmmm, maybe I shouldn't compare IPB v 2.1.4 agaisn't IF.... or should I! :dan:

I have had both in the past, Invisionfree and IPB (version 1.3.0). I find IPB to be better... But that's only because I know how to install it all, and I know how to set everything up to make it functional. I also use a free webhost, where the only thing you have to do is post on their forum and use your post points to pay for the hosting. Great setup if you ask me, but yeah. If your interested in finding the URL, PM me.

I am currently planning a new project, and it does have to do with Invisionfree. In your opinion, what should I use, Invisionfree forums or IPB forums (version 1.3.0)?

EDIT: I am going to make a poll about it anyways, so no need to reply here. I'll link to the topic as soon as I've written it up. :r

Basically on IPB you have to do all the hassle and work yourself:

  • Paying
  • Finding a webhost
  • Creating a database
  • Getting FTP Client
  • Uploading
  • Installing
  • Upgrading

InvisionFree is kinda like 'IPB Beginner'

IPB may be more of a hassle but IPB also has more features and once you set up everything yourself i think IPB is just as easy as IF. So i like IPB better.

Also i have both on different forums.

If you have a free version of Invision Power Board 2.0 and up, then it's an illegal, nullified version. :)

If you know what you're doing and have the required funds, IPB has everything you'll ever want and then some. It's loaded with features and is overall just great software.

InvisionFree, however, requires no maintenance, almost no technical skill, and no funds unless you buy extras.

Also, IPB creates a more professional feel to your forum, and is easily integrated into a main website. It can be customized much further than InvisionFree as well.

InvisionFree is much more convenient to users, however, if you have the proper resources are are choosing between the two, the only way you would pick InvisionFree over IPB is if you were lazy. :P

If you would take the time to read my whole post instead of bolding parts of it out of context, you would notice I said "If you have the proper resources [money] and are choosing between the two, the only way you would pick InvisionFree over IPB is if you were lazy. " :/
