I think it would be a lot better if the #1 member (ROOT Admin) could make another usergroup and give that group ROOT ability. Anyone agree? This really wouldn't hurt anything... |

What would be the point? If you want someone to have the same powers as you then just put them into your own group :/ |

A blast from the past.

I see some point in it like they wanted a differnt user group. (like Member #1's group was called "Owner" and other admins that were root were called "Root Admins" or something like that) But in my view its not really pratical. :/ |

Yeah, for my board, I have a 'tech admin' group, and a general 'admin' group, and I can't make both groups have ROOT capabilities... |

*Jory pokes the shiney little topic in the docs called `Difference between ROOT admins and normal admins` Edit: The above was meant for Dailey... About the question about having another ROOT group: I think many people would create a second admin group because they read that they should do that, and then give them ROOT capabillities, hence making the second group useless. Other then just wanting them to have different names, I really do not see the point. And really, why would anybody need ROOT acces anyway? (The limits are mostly for security..) |

#1 does. ROOT #1 can add other ROOTs but just not create other admin groups with ROOT capability. I'd be willing to wager that allowing #1 to create usergroups with ROOT capabilities would lead to an increase in silly people being 'taken over' or their boards being trashed. ![]() While granting board owners with total control seems like a good idea, security still has to be implemented and really, individuals are their own worst enemy. Another reason for people losing boards isn't necessary. :/ |

Why would any other group, moreso if it was merely tech support, need to access e-mail logs and admin logs? Cause that is really the only difference. |

If it's his forum, he has a right to trash it if he wants to.

My thoughts exactly. He can trash it if he wants. You should make your own forum, where you are owner, and do it all there. |
