What?
Just because Brandon himself hasn't responded doesn't mean no one else is allowed to reply to the question. :ermm:

remove ads?
You own Invisionfree so you should be able to remove ads on the site. It may lose you some money but seriously, I click on every ad on Palliot Town [no link due to the rule, try to find the site]
so I reload the site and click on every add and x out or click back. And is it possible to move the ads to a diffrent possision?

Brandon doesn't, or hasn't removed the ads because it generates money, and it shows the user what a default forum will look like. That's also why Brandon has kept the default skin.

As for moving the ads around, you cannot. Though, you can pay for ad removal and put your own where ever you want. :)

If you were Brandon, would you want to loose a lot of money, because a few members don't like the ads?

I think it's great that this site offers the default look of everything. It allows you to see what your first forum will look like and just how far you can go with it to make it your own.

As for the ads, I don't mind them. I am removing them from my site, but I don't have any hard feelings for them. :P

I think the board should be like.. the most 'tricked' out forum, and stuff. The coolest one, most codes, fastest, no ads, so you could see how far you can actually go with your board.

However, the typed ads don't bother me. The picture/image ads are my worst ph34r.

Nobody forces you to use InvisionFree ;)

Dont like the ads? Dont use IF... Or simply pay a very small fee of 15 cents per 1000 views...

  • The definition of 'cool' and what constitutes to it varies from person to person; it is impossible to accomplish that. Instead, we focus on being a paragon of support and providing a clean community.
  • Currently there are no codes that are a necessity. Plus, we don't want people to mistake them for being part and parcel of the board.
  • Speed isn't an issue for most. Dial up users may experience troubles, especially if there are large images which is why we try to remove any images over 50kb, and limit the size of signature images and avatar sizes.
  • Ads help generate funds. There's no real need to remove them either.
Support is a simple board with a simple function. It's much easier for us all to do our jobs or be members here if it's kept as simple as possible (i.e. flashy add-ons that are of no use), and often codes overcomplicate things. Efficiency before aesthetics.
