There is no such thing as races. If everyone who says that the color of someone's skin doesn't matter, that they should think they way I do. What is the color of your skin anyway? Genetically determined by your ancestors. Everything else is just society's (mis)conceptions of one another. |

Because he is a "Red Shirt." Oddly enough, I wonder where that term came from.
Umm, yeah, actually there is. Sociologically and scienctificlly there are different races, cultures, etc. They deal with merely skin pigmentation to cultural differences. So yeah, thats a lie right there.
I'm not sure that "fat" is a race, but I'd say because fat people are, for the most part, physically undesireable. |

Well, there's fat, and then there's pleasantly plump(tm). Besides the issue of physical desirability, people make certain assumptions (which are generally, but not always justified) regarding behavioral and genetic factors of people of various shapes and sizes. With regard to race, there are definitely different races of humans, unless by "race" you mean species, in which case, you'd have to believe in Bigfoot (as far as any of them still being alive). But just like there are calico cats and tabby cats, etc. (and while I'm not up on my biology enough to know the exact distinction of classification, I do know that all "breeds" of domestic cats aren't in the same category as tigers and whatnot) the same sort of thing is true with humans. It's not just skin coloring, but numerous genetic variations that distinguish one "race" of humans from another. The cultural/socialogical stuff is a whole other thing, not really related to race, other than by tradition and practice.

As stated before "races" as in skin color then yes there are. The fact is that you should be proud that your "white" "black" asian or what ever. It really does not matter but can affect how you are raised and your culture Such as I notice how "black" kids tend to act differnty in a situation then "white" kids And how much pigment you have in your skin. True to an extent like I said ealyer it really depends on how you were raised. |

To me, that's like saying you're proud to be tall. Proud to have 20/20 vision. Proud you live in a country with lots of air. Being proud of anything at all is fairly silly, and for several religions, it's a big no-no, but being proud of something that's not your doing is just absurd.

I ment of your "races" history and what they did to make them selfs or the world better. but not to the point where "I'm Better then you" just a general pride. |

get a life.... In case you haven't noticed, you're the only one who finds that funny.
I agree with Phrank here, for the most part. I think that there will be race problems in America and elsewhere until people stop classifying themselves as black, white, blue, whatever. A recent example what New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin calling for New Orleans to be "A Chocolate City". Please.... Hershey, Pennsylvania is the Chocolate City. ![]() But seriously, his remarks are an example of exactly what is wrong with racial relations in America. People like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, to name a few, thrive on racial tensions. They make millions of dollars exploiting situations to their own benefits, in the name of the NAACP, or what have you. This happens on the opposite end, with whites as well. Don't get me wrong, those on the other side are just as much in the wrong as those whom I've mentioned. |
