I think user, because sometimes when you can't get online too accept registrations people join and they give up and dont bother coming back. I would only put on admin if theres a big group of spammers coming too the board, but then i turn it off the next day or so. But thats never happened.

Neither. If they use a fake email it's a loss for them because then they don't get mass emails.

I'd agree with you there. :)
Or if you get on holiday you need to get someone else to validate them for you too. :)

I've got a board which I made with another classmate for my friends to ponder through. Eventually one wise guy told the grade. Soon enough, everyone was trying to register with names like "Thisforums**ks" and "Youguysareallf**s". Bottom line, Admin validation is a necessity if you want to mantain any privacy in your forum.

I would say email validation is better so people dont register with fake emails. But with admin validation, you can't tell if they are fake. :/

But with admin validation, you might miss people (Being away ect...;) ).
The good thing of admin validation is you can stop spammers.

So I would go with email validation. :)

I assume you mean a fake. If they use a fake email address they wont receive the link in order to validate their registration.

Yeah, but isn't it easy to just making new emails?

Nothing is foolproof. This just adds an extra level of protection. Its like saying its silly to lock your door, because someone could always break it down.

A combination of the two would be great! They have to approve their email, then be approved by admin.
