Yeah its free, you should use IF because IF has the most helpful staff around here to help with your problems, the Admin CP is probaly the easiest to get around in, the codes are very easy to install, and basically from all my other forum experiaces IF has the best support.

Betweek IF and IPB(Paid host) IF you dont have to install anything for your board to get up and IF has a better CP.

Between IF and PhpBB is IF you dont have to download anything to istall a code, IF has more security features.

You make a board. What you see here, the colours and what each forum will look like, its the standard template. It doesn't come with other tempalte to choose from, you merely make (or obtain) a skin for colours and extra things you'd like for you forum.

Yes, the staff or other people here will answer any questions you have to get started with. Of course, the best bet is to read the FAQ and all, but you can always ask if you have a question.

If all things that I've found, and do note that I've only owned forums here, but have used forums on other services, is that this layout is much more user friendly. I can't compare Admin Control Panels (though I have used IPB and those are a bit more confusing) I can say that your members will much prefer (in my expeirnce) a board on IF.

IF is here in case you don't have a server of your own. It's the easiest in my view (and many others, too) to setup a board.

IF compared to PHPBB:

Well for starters i tried setting up a phpbb site, and i didnt even kno how to download mysql, and when i had host *paid i might add* it didnt support .php files, so i just subscribed to a website for a month for 5 bucks, and had no use for it.

Features:

IF has a lot more features than phpbb like: A members profile with more stuff, and easily accessible, and better styling/costomizing.

Support:

Through my experiences IF has the best support by far.

Admin CP: Though uncostomizable it packs a punch when it comes to costomization.

Hope this helps. :)

Note: i only compared it to phpbb another free forum software site, because phpbb is well known.

IF is different from other free IPB hosts in that it gives better support, but comprimises functionality. I'm no longer making boards on IF whenever I make a new one, simply because I prefer functionality. But still, IF is very good.

I won't advirtise the other IPB forum host I use, though, because that got some staff here pretty #### upset...

InvisionFree offers you a 100% free (as its name states) forum setup. It requires little to no technical knowledge on your part. Its servers run faster than a lot of free hosts I've seen, and their support is excellent. Just sift through the support forums on this board to see examples of that. Not only is there a forum for the task of helping you with your issues, but there is always a special support ticket system in which you can talk directly to InvisionFree's support staff via your Admin Control Panel.

Customization is not a hassle at all. There are countless sources to get skins, modifications, graphics, and more. Check out this section of the board directory for a full list. And even if you want to do it yourself, it is still extremely easy to get your InvisionFree board to look and act as you want it to.

To add to that, there are already millions of others registered on InvisionFree, and a large amount of them run stable and active communities. If InvisionFree has worked for others, why not get the same for yourself?

Indeed. B)

InvisionFree is a very reliable free forum host, which is very rare to find this kind of service. Also there are great codes to enhance your forums, and creating your board is a very easy process which is done instantly. B)

InvisionFree: Easy CP, more user-friendly, completely free, fast, and is super customizable.Nothing needed to install, either.
The admin CP/mod CP is the most controlling - easy CP I've seen.Only board I will join.Has the best support, the staff here is impechable, and the "old" members/experianced members will always be ready to assist/help you with anything you need, if a staff member cannot get to your assistance fast enough.

phpBB: I've heard; terrible staff/support.Not user-friendly.I'm like whoever posted it above, I do not join phpBB boards.Just... suck.Lol.

vBulletin: Costs A LOT.Need to install tons. They're okay, but I'd prefer joining an IF board, than a vB board.Just something about vB, that makes me feel vulnerable (I know a few hackers/exploiters, and they've told me in their experiance that vB forums are the most vulnerable.)

Just get IF! Costs nothing, free, nothing needed on your computer (except internet :P).If you don't like, no space was wasted on your computer, no money was wasted, or anything.

Tip: If you do get an IF[InvisionFree] board, do *NOT* put "(Powered by InvisionFree)" or "(Powered by Invision Power Board)" in the name of your board. For some reason when you add "(Powered by ...)" it's easier for hackers/exploiters to find vulneralbilitys. It's nothing about IF, every forum system has that faulty.

Anyway: GET INVISIONFREE!!! (*keeps on chanting*)

Sincerely,
J. Oliver
