And you didn't read his post clearly. Sirin said you need XP SP2 for IE7, and you go talk about IE6 being compatable with 2000. Oh well... Its good to hear people are liking Windows Internet Explorer (As it seems to be called now. Probally due to IE no longer being for Mac) Would a computer illiterate see the difference? And if you look at Aaron's post, you see that the rendering didn't get all that much better. :\ |

The rendering engine is far from perfect, but at least they implemented a lot of CSS2.1 features that IE lacked for so long. Of course, as long as IE6 is still used by the majority of users we still can't really use those. |

Firefox may be good, but that doesn't make IE bad. Isn't the fact that it can display billions (and growing) websites across the world, selling almost anything you could find in the real world, giving you every single public piece of informatio, and maybe even some secret info, good enough for you? I personally think of IE as THE internet, and browsers are just special features. Besides, Firefox has it's downsides. It screws up text on a lot of websites. Some features like toolbars aren't or certain websites can't be used on it, you need to download quicktime to listen to website music, while IE stays with Windows Media Play, or sometimes WINAMP. Not that I don't like Firefox, but I think people exagerate on just how much better it really is. As for Opera... I just stay out of there... much different browser. I think it's just a retreat browser from the other evil ones trying to compete. This subject reminds me of people hating Windows and liking Macs, but keep in mind this one piece of information that will solve all the above problems: THERE ISN'T MUCH DIFFRENCE! Use what you want, but in the end, they all do the same things. |

Firefox may be good, but that doesn't make IE bad. True, something is not bad just because something else is better. However, IE claims to be a website browser, yet can not display websites correctly, also, it has poor security and lacks dozens of features; its bad. Isn't the fact that it can display billions (and growing) websites across the world, selling almost anything you could find in the real world, giving you every single public piece of informatio, and maybe even some secret info, good enough for you? It would be if it did all of that, decently. I personally think of IE as THE internet, and browsers are just special features. And Fords are roads and cars are just special features, right? (That made no sence, I am aware of that. But its just as right as your IE / browser thing.) Besides, Firefox has it's downsides. It screws up text on a lot of websites. Its the fault of those websites for being poorly coded. If I would start talking to you in english, but use words I just made up here and there, you wouldn't understand eighter, would you? Some features like toolbars aren't or certain websites can't be used on it, Thats because those toolbars where made for another browser then. And if you can't view a website with it, as stated above, its the websites creators fault. you need to download quicktime to listen to website music, while IE stays with Windows Media Play, or sometimes WINAMP. Not true. IE uses plugins just as well, but they oftenly come preinstalled. Its only obvious that they are not in FF, Opera, etc. Otherwise, you'd be downloading and installing loads and loads of stuff you may never use. Not that I don't like Firefox, but I think people exagerate on just how much better it really is. As for Opera... I just stay out of there... much different browser. If Opera and IE would be the same, it would be theft of code... But Opera isn't that different tho... This subject reminds me of people hating Windows and liking Macs, but keep in mind this one piece of information that will solve all the above problems:THERE ISN'T MUCH DIFFRENCE! Use what you want, but in the end, they all do the same things. (Lets go back to cars:) ) every car drives, yet they are verry different... Now, don't get me wrong, I don't have IE. (Used it for years) Its just the ignorant people that I'm starting to get sick of.. |

I'm unimpressed. Definitely not worth spending more time in XP on my computer than OSX. Camino pwns it. |

Downloaded IE 7 beta 2 and am really impressed ![]() Other than the fact about the Tab's which is just like FF i noticed an increase of loading time for me, and being on dial up and noticing this is very crucial to which browser i choose to use. At the time I am really liking this yet the only downside is that the best browsers i like (including IE and Opera) have and probably wont get an official Adblock like FF :/. I just think for me FF freezes too much and is too slow at loading pages here on dial up. |

I'm using IE 7 to post this very message. The RSS manager pwnz, this is probaly the best browser on Windows when it comes to RSS (it rivals that of Safari). The tabbed browsing is a vast improvement, and it is better than the tab feature from the Windows Search Toolbar for IE6. As far as usability goes, it just doesn't get my vote on this . They just PULLED out the menu bar. Although it is optional to put it back in, it just sucks when you've got to dig deep into the tools menu to find it. The speed is better than it's predecessor, but not the alternatives. The search is WAY better than IE6. It's faster by seconds, and google's enabled by default :shifty:. It seems that Microsoft has finally catched up on something. They've finally done something decent for a change. I'd say this is worth trying out. And by the way, the Transparent PNG problem have been corrected, finally! :hyper: |

I downloaded it out of curiosity, and interestingly enough, IE7 is interperted as Netscape 4... Or at least it is according to that annoying signature service. Edit:

I'm using it. I'm going to miss the classic look. I'm glad that Microsoft used their extra billion dollars to add more stuff to IE. |
