How can you blame the sinful things of man on God? Anyway, it wasnt a good idea to get religion involved. So, I'm going to stop right here before I get fired up and ranting and raving about religion. ^_^

I also play piano, trumpet, an banjo, but I have a hard time figuring out how ryhming a few words to a beat, and dancing around is musical art. Then again, I might have this all wrong.

"Shakin it" is only degrading to those who view it in that manner. I don't think the girl who is doing it considers it degrading, and that is really all that matters. If she was forced to do it, and she personally was against it, then certainly I wouldn't like it. However, she chose that job, and she probably doesn't have a problem with it, so why worry? It is a form of dance, and dance nowadays has become more sexual than back in the day. The crowd that regularly watches those videos seems to think it is pretty normal, but those who do not like that genre of music or are not intuned with the culture of that genre of music seem to think of this form of dancing as degrading, when in reality it really isn't that bad to the people that are actually involved. I think it is more of a perspective issue than anything else, and as I stated above, if the girl is okay with it, I am okay with it.

I'd rather have my daughter shaking her ass in some video than doing lots of other things, including being a used car or insurance salesperson or politician or CEO or whatever, in a nice conservative outfit, if she'd be doing anything in one of those positions that I consider unethical, which probably most in the fields I listed and many others do on a regular basis.
I'd probably be more proud of her if she was a hooker addicted to crack than if she was any of the current US government officials.

Seriously that is just stupid phrank, you would rather have your daughter in a dangerous and sleazy industry addicted to drugs then being a successful person and making something of her life.
Let's hope you are a better mod then you would be a parent

Truckstar, I took Phrank's remark as one meant to be tongue-in-cheek.
Other than that one exerpt, I have to agree with everything Phrank said.
I am female, and probably older than anyone else posting in this thread.

If you see something on t.v. you don't like, do what I do....change the channel.

It was partly tongue-in-cheek, yes, but I pretty much meant what I said.
Either Truckstar needs to work on his/her reading comprehension skills, or has some pretty pathetic morals.
Being a prostitute isn't necessarily a bad thing, though the way most go about it isn't very wise.
And being a crack addict, while not at all a good thing, doesn't reflect negatively on one's view of the world and others.
Either wouldn't make me terribly happy to have my daughter be involved with, but being unethical is much worse than making a few unwise decisions, even if it makes you a billionaire.

I would rather live in a world where girls can dance butt nekkid than in one where another persons morals are pushed down her throat. I am not defending the dancers choices, just her right to make the choice.

As a mod of a forum phrank, it is unprofessional to poke fun at a client's morals or reading ability.

I knew you was tounge-in-cheek but I find it worrying that you would rather your daughter take drugs then have a job you THINK is unethical and I assume you don't know much about the horrors of substance abuse.

Further more I don't see how you can attack my morals then label all government officals, car salespeople etc. as unethical going by stereotypes when you have not met every person who has the occupations you dislike as a career. That is unethical to be labelling everybody like that and so was your comments about me.

There is a difference between learning from another and having anothers views pushed down your throat. I don't care for those videos either but I know how to use a remote control.

I also recognize someone (you) trying to pick a fight when I see one so I am not coming back to this thread.

Actually i don't think his picking a fight, and he isn't talking about TV.

Can't you take a discussion without having to pullout because somebody disagrees with your views?

Me being a mod here has nothing to do with anything.
My responsibility as a mod, and specifically a support team mod, is to enforce the rules and give support.
Other than that, my only responsibility is as a member, which is to abide by the rules.

And you just reaffirmed my reasoning for questioning your reading comprehension skills.
Maybe you should read back over everything I've written so far a few times.
If and when you're able to understand what I've actually said, and differentiate it from your accidental or willful misinterpretations of what I said, then maybe we can talk, but there shouldn't be anything to say at that point.

Learn of other people and their morals? Don't make me laugh. I'm 14, I don't smoke, I am one of the smartest for my age, yet if someone told me to learn from other people and their morals, I would laugh in their face, and tell them to get a life, especially someone my age.
