This topic, while relevent to InvisionFree v2.0, is not to ask...

  • When it is to be released.
  • What features will be on it.
  • Other questions regarding the upgrade that are answered in pinned topics. :T3h Fl3x:

This thread is for people to discuss what they believe will happen upon the release OF InvisionFree 2.0, to the community.

I.E.: Will a boatload of new members show up to test out the new software? Do you think it'll bring back old members whom'd left InvisionFree? Will a slew of new 'modders' rise to test the limits of the upgrade? Will chaos break out on the Support Boards, and people ask questions repeadetly (like people already are now.. :arr:)?

Basically, this topic's for your speculation on how the upgrade will affect us. :arr:

"Omi's Opinion"

Personally, I think this will bring back a good portion of members whom had either "moved on" to other board softwares, or whom got waaay too impatient on the upgrade progress. If things go right, the days following the release of InvisionFree v2.0 will be EXTREMELY active, both on IF Support and on many message boards that are semi-dead and getting this new, welcomed upgrade.  Even people whom own message boards outside InvisionFree will still use the new IF2.0 for test boards, small support boards, and other things that fit their needs.

New boards will be registered extremely fast, by people wanting to test the software and by new people seeing the features of v2.0, and server 16 will come raaaather quickly.

After a few weeks, we'll start seeing the 'big' codes & mods for 2.0, similiar to things like James' "RPG Hack" and, in the past before it was outlawed, ZeroTolerance's "RPG Inferno", among other things.  And the support boards will be a much better place to go to, since from what I understand, they're wiping the Code Snippets and such in favor of a new way of getting modifications, codes, skins, etc.

Extremely active InvisionFree forums like IF Board Directory and the like will be the first ones to take advantage of the new features, and will probably get a slew of new members themselves, as well as hefty activity. It'll be a little chaotic, but definetely a great time for InvisionFree, and "rival" free-forum hosts like ProBoards will either be left in the dust to die, or will be forced to struggle to even catch up to InvisionFree's new fame - either way, it works well for all of us.

---------------

There's my guess, anyway. Post yer's.

I got a hunch from a mod that it will be shinier than usual. It will probably be bigger and better than ever.

I give that it will have just a massive amount of improvment. I don't even see how it can't considering it's been worked on for quite a while and I sure hope the workers are going to make it so just about everyone is happy. I sure can't wait for this. First quarter of this year was announced as the release date.

I reckon 3 new support staff and 2 new community staff will be hired - the forums will become VERY active. And there will be LOTS of support ticktes.

I believe this will defititnately increase IF's chance of become extremely more active and really hard to beat. I've seen alot forums "copy" IPB/IF codes and hosting, I hope this is strong and won't be munipulated

It'll definately get some peopel to come back and will most probably make all other board hosts jealous. Other Hosts eill probably start making upgrades to their board software and make A lot[/b] of coding werrors and basically messing up their system, I imagineothers will also start making up crap about Invisionfree to try to make IF look bad.

I think it's grat how they took their time with it and worked at a steady pace. I mean With this MASSIVE upgrade all at once, other board hosts will be blown away because of all the new features and because they made lots of smaller upgrades they wont be able to keep up.

That is what will happen, in my opinion.
