Absolutely. I've used AOL on a few of my friend's computers, and whenever I visit Wikipedia, it always says that I have new messages for my IP. |

AOL users have what you call Rolling IP's every time they restart their computer their IP changes. |

I don't think the AOL thing is the same as a proxy. Proxies are different. |

Proxies are adding an additional server at the end of the "chain" for different reasons. One would be to remain hidden. Others would be to surf "non-work related sites" at work without getting caught.
