need some help please. We have a poster who's been advertising politcal parties - namely the BNP.

They've posted 'lets put the white back into our culture. sign up and be free of the scum from our shores'

We have banned this poster for a min of 1 month but we're constantly getting posts from other members saying this is not against invision rules etc etc. and you can support your football team so why not a political party

Can someone clarify this for me please.

You can always enforce rules beyond those of InvisionFree.

Indeed, if you mention "no racism" or "no political campaigns" in your board rules then you can dictate those terms to your members. You are the admin of the board, so ultimately it is your decision. However, enforcing too many unnecessary rules will reduce your board's popularity.

There is a difference between supporting a political party and advertising it.

I would remove the BNP advertisements because it will drive away new members.

When a member registers they agree to the following:

Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this BB to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this BB.

I think that gives you enough to stand on. The fact that someone finds it objectionable, and you as the owner agree, is sufficient.

As above. Check out the Terms of Service and Terms of Use - may well cover it adequately - there's a difference between supporting a political party (or football/soccer team) and being abusive to (potential) other members.

If I supported the Spireites and you supported the Rams, it wouldn't give me the right to be abusive to you.

(although if I supported County and you supported Forest... ;) )
