american humour and british is very different. americans don't tend to find irony funny and usually can't laugh at/ mock themselves much. in britain our comedy is pretty crude and risky. thats just in general really and not saying british humours better because alot of american comedies are hilarious.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_humour

"The words "British Humor" are an oxymoron, and rightfully so. The British are well known for their sophisticated senses of humor. Humor is such an important part of British life that it has even pervaded their very language. Example: The British spell the word "humor" h-u-m-o-u-r. Why the extra "u"? Because it's ironic."

Thats the best explaination of British Humor.

no we spell HUMOUR and COLOUR with a U because we invented the language!!!!!!! lol

Yes, you speak English...We speak American. Simple. :/ ... *stupid joke* <_< :logik:

Although I listen to more "grunge" and most of my friends are considered to be 'rock-lovers' than hip-hop fans.

I think the world functions better when people are chavs/gangstas than grunge.

I'm not trying to be witty or sarcastic:
The reason is simple: Grunge's hero's rely on depression and "not being good enough". Generally speaking, bands such as Nirvana or Radiohead thrive on teenage angst and human inadequancies.

Although, human's are far from "adequate" ...for a society to be prosperous the humans must be competitive and vociferous, which is what "Gangsters", "chavs" or hip-hop itself advocates. Standing up for your right to be a person despite your social class and the ill fate it provides.

So although I like listening to grunge, I like seeing more and more chavs.

I see exactly what your saying, and I take no offense to it, lol

Grunge is a falling race, the Chavs arnt built around depression, but the EMO, and grunge arnt built around being idiots lol

I wasn't planning on being offensive, so I'm glad you didn't take any offence :D

Emo is worse than grunge though... I give grunge credit, (and I may be biased b/c my teenage years started at the exact moment Nirvana took off) ..but to me Grunge is more pure. They weren't trying to be something they weren't nor were they being excessive in their demand for attention. It was all about stripping down on the excesses: jeans and a cheap flannel shirt ...and don't worry about haircuts.

Emo.. is too.. I don't know.. flashy. Like sitting down and having to apply eye-liner and black nail polish and conforming to being non-conforming. It's just too empty of a statement. ..and then there's the whole thing of having to be an overly-depressed surbanite.

Whereas with grunge, when it came out, you could truly be who you wanted to be... look at Pearl JAm and Nirvana ..they interact with their audience on 2 completely different levels that were almost opposite..they have their own style, attitude and beliefs.

I like the music certain emo bands create.. but people who classify themselves as emo or believe you have to dress or act a certain way.. meh.
