Hi,

Lately I have been considering writing a few docs for IF and I would like to know if Iam allowed to write these. I would also like to know if I do write one will get it posted in the forum with all the other docs ? Could one of the IF staff please give me all the details on writing these docs because I would really love to write a few of them :)

Docs = Documents, like if you look at the FAQ and Document forum you will see a few of thse posted by Reno and IF staff members ;) By the way are you the same person PunkAssGG IFS ? And please if any staff member would be so kind to answer my question I would love to write a few docs for IF :)

I believe only staff may post and reply there.

I always picture your monitor covered in yellow post-it notes, Quimby.
But you'd need far too many for all the info you bust out on people.
Anyway, there's been some talk about updating the FAQ and documentation and all that, so I'm sure if you had some relatively thorough (and of course accurate) info it would be welcomed.
I'm not sure what form it would be welcomed in though. :/

I'm not sure just having people post things and then adding them to the FAQ or whatever is such a good idea.
Personally, I think it would be best for IF if things got submitted then publicly reviewed, edited and modified, rated, then added.

For example:

Somebody comes up with some documentation for something or other.
They posts it in a special submissions forum.
People look over it, make sure they didn't just copy it from somewhere else, make sure it works, point out any typos etc., point out where such and such a part could be reworded to make it easier to understand, point out where such and such could actually be done this other way as instead, and finally when enough staff and members think it's ready, it can be added to the list and if needed, credit can be given to everyone that contributed.
And if a month later somebody comes up with a better way or some stuff to add or change, they can submit for a modification.

That's my thoughts anyway.

Also, I think this isn't really a support topic, so I'm going to move it. :)

Yeppity yep. If you're literate and smarter than most of the peons that inhabit God's green earth, then you might just be a doc-writing candidate :)

I would stick 'em in Feedbackz0rz for now :). Preface 'em with [DOC], please. (Of course you have my ub3r-secret chat identity, so we could talk there...)
