The Germans want German to be the International language.

Brussels are saying that because English is spoken so widely, that English ought to be the new International language.

Brussels also say with so many 'silent' letters in words, and letters like 'ph' sounding the same as 'f', English should be made easier before being adopted as the International language.

A team of experts are looking at the changes that need making, and have drawn up a 5 year plan.

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy.

The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.

Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is
Disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".

During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensibl riten styl.

Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united vold vil finali kum tru.

Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze Forst plas.

That made me smile :)

Stupid Brussels anyway. Not letting us sell bananas unless they're curved enough. It wouldn't surprise me if they DID do something like this :P

Wow, I couldn't imagine spelling like that. But as I recall, the Germans use capital letters where in the English language it's not supposed to be. But in the German language, that's how they write it.

That'll never happen. English is an international language and, I'd prefer it if Britain wasn't classified as 'European', I thought it was better independant. Knowing Blair, he'll agree to anything like he always does, but I dislike the UK being a part of Europe because of all the silly politics stuff there is, if it were independant, the government would get things done much quicker.
German language, I don't even know a word of it, well with the exceptions of 'Guten Tag' (Hello), that'd mean everyone would have to learn it, well, I have much better things to be doing than learning German.

My comment was meant in no racist or offensive manner.

That's like saying America is not part of North America. Britian is still part of Europe. So, unless you want to move it 4,000 miles across the Atlantic somewhere else. British people, are still known as Europeans.
