Ok, I have got FSX and my computer quite frankly doesn't like it. My computers specs are quite low as you can see although I thought it was quite good till i got FSX: Acer TravelMate 2410 760MB RAM 1.50GHz Processor Intel Celeron M I am not sure if my laptop can be upgraded with a better processor or now, I cant find much on the internet on that matter either. If someone else has the same laptop as me or knows anything could you let me know? |

Upgrading a laptop comes down to more RAM or a bigger hard drive. You'll be very hard pressed to find a processor upgrade let alone someone who will install it for you. My advice is go Dell or better yet go with a Macbook. My friends have them and they are some pretty cool machines. They have the Core 2 Duo and plenty of RAM and HD space. You can get a pretty good deal on one for about $1,200. And about money. If your going to get a laptop you're not going to find very good quality with anything less than $900-$1000. One last thing, don't EVER buy a Compaq or HP laptop. They are garbage as far as I'm concerned. I've had to repair my Compaq twice now because a 50 cent power jack keeps breaking. That's my two cents.

Well I have already upgraded my RAM and I was thinking of getting an external hard drive and use that for the games. If I do manage to find a processor then my dad can install it for me as he is good at that type of thing. I would rather not get a new laptop, I have only had this one for a year now. I wouldn't get a mac anyway, FSX is made for windows even though it probably would still work. My laptop was very good and fast and I thought it was good until I got FSX. I never had any lag at all on any other games or anything. |

I'm surprised you're playing games with a Celeron M. You would have to check with the manufacterer to see what the motherboard supports (not to mention the socket). And then check http://newegg.com to find a nice processor. Also what kinda of video card do you have? |

The processor never really gave me any problems before. I have completed GTA SA on this computer and I used to play FS9 until i got FSX. Im not sure about the video card actually... The sticker that was on the laptop came off and I lost it so I am not sure. |

I recommend a 2GB hard drive, and a maximum of 100mb of ram. You'll be surfing along.. unless you open anything more than Notepad, that is. :-/ |
