Unfortunately, I've spilled water on my laptop's keyboard a few days ago. :r The keyboard simply stopped working. I tried plugging in a keyboard, and it worked fine. That was going well until a few minutes ago, when my laptop decided to press 4 by itself repeatedly. It's not stopping. I tried restarting, uninstalling the keyboard drivers (thought it was worth a try), so I need some help here! I took the 4 key off, messed around a bit with the stuff underneath, and that did absolutely nothing.

Pop up the keys, make sure no electrical components were fried. If problem persists, see a professional to fix it.

Most likely you fried it...

*That's why my parents yell at me not to drink or eat by the computer -__-

Did you spill plain water or a fizzy drink?

If plain water, turn of the laptop, then dry with a hairdryer (on low!) and hope for the best.

If fizzy drink, you can try to rinse the keyboard with plain water (turn it off first. :P) then follow the above steps..

Actually, this is the 2nd liquid involved accident I've had with a keyboard in my many years of use with them. The first one was a fizzy drink, and I rinsed it with water. The keys were cleaned, the keyboard worked, and all was well.

I also knew to do the first step as well :) I think I'm going to have to accept that the keyboard is gone for now. At this point, I just want to disable the keyboard so it won't keepa automatically pressing 4.

The only thingI've ever gotten on my keyboard was cream cheese.

I learned when I was six not to have a drink near a computer.

I made a topic like this in Zetaboards Community. I spilled water all over my keyboard about a week ago, Luckily it still works, The keys get stuck every now and then but I just pop them off and replace them. I hope everything works out for you though. :r
