Hehe, but I have reason to believe that it was supposed to be a nice surprise for us.

As I explained it, and if I'm right about the shortest path, we should have ended up right underneath SK2,3,5 and beaten them.

Can I ask that the game be paused until everything is clarified, in case XC did end up surviving?

battle is initiated by being a square next to the person. you did indeed come out under them and initiated a battle and died. just like when dan robbed kr.

But if we were underneath SK2,3,5 then SK4 wouldn't have been able to reach us.

what I got from da_man's post was that the guild with the most swords (doesn't matter if they are close enough or not) wins. :ermm:

He said we ended up in between them. Which we shouldn't have ended up in between them. I think..

Wait, you said closest position TO ATTACK. Which WOULD be between.
*ElementalAlchemist was just thinking closest position. :P

It SHOULD be underneath you guys.

Taking the extra step to end up in between would NOT be the closest position.

Well, neither would taking the extra step to be underneath us.

There's this little thing called... Being a bit more specific. ;) :P

That would be a DIAGONAL move.

That would not be an extra step. Going up two, instead of diagonal 1. We should have just gone diagonal 1 instead of up 2.

No, just going diagonal would make you diagonal to us.

No, going diagonal would end up underneath you.

I'll illustrate it in a second.

We were around that spot where the red dot is, could be underneath it, but it wouldn't affect the shortest path to you guys.

And what's the lesson from all this? Don't get immersed in games like this, or better yet, just don't play them at all.

So does everyone see what I'm saying?

No, because:

  1. I started 2 squares up and 1 to the left of you.
  2. At that point, I moved ^\ 3x.
  3. The shortest path to that place would be diagonal to the bottom left.
  4. That is, of course, unless da_man made a mistake... :ermm:

Wow, a bunch of people posted while I was.
I can see more easily now how page 57 was filled in the time of 43 minutes.

Apparently you guys only move diagonal once, then straight up twice.

Then #4 applies here.
