We were around that spot where the red dot is, could be underneath it, but it wouldn't affect the shortest path to you guys.

Because you didn't say your exact spaces, he just moved you as close as possible. 3 up. So you did get hit by both of them. :-/

And what's the lesson from all this?  Don't get immersed in games like this, or better yet, just don't play them at all.

Yes, that's the attitude ...

...that will get you absolutely no where in life

Oh yes, because games on an Internet forum are so crucial to life.

I'm only commenting because this is the millionth time the rules and movements have been debated throughout the duration of this game. Seemed like a simple observation to make, really.

No, because:

  1. I started 2 squares up and 1 to the left of you.

  2. At that point, I moved ^\ 3x.

  3. The shortest path to that place would be diagonal to the bottom left.

  4. That is, of course, unless da_man made a mistake... :ermm:

Apparently you guys only move diagonal once, then straight up twice.

Then #4 applies here.

No he doesn't... I ended up right beneath you.

I'll draw up another illustration.

I see what you're saying Stephen, but I also specified "closest" in my move.

EDIT:

And my illustration is inaccurate. I believe we were actually 2 spaces below that, because we were 2 or 3 spaces away from SK before they moved.

Yeah, so he moved you "closest" to us.

EDIT TO HIS EDIT: Exactly. That brings me to my previous point, where the closest you could've gotten going max spaces (4) would be diagonal.

Yeah, so he moved you "closest" to us.

But when Dan asked to be moved close as possible like we did, we was given the shortest route I believe.

I said as close as possible to SK2,3,5 but not 4. I know we're still close to you guys, but there was a shorter trip to the space right underneath you guys that would still be just as close.

And even so, my illustration is inaccurate. I believe we weren't even close enough to make it in between you guys within 3 moves anyways (or whatever the maximum is).

I was commenting on your general attitude rather than this specific example. You're saying it's better to not do something because you won't have to face the consequences of doing it. That attitude will get you no where, hence my comment. ;) But now I'm getting off topic, so yeah.

Dumb question but other then the fact it killed you, how were you not close to SK when he moved you up straight 3 spaces? You were just as close if you were underneathe.

We were close, like I said before, but we would have been just as close and in a shorter route right underneath them.

But now I'm thinking we couldn't possibly be able to be in between them at all because of the movement limit.

Quote:

Answer: Yes. Each member of your guild can only move a total of 3 spaces. Each guild member may move one space for free on each turn. After the first space, each additional space up to the third will cost you 10 GP. In total, it will cost you 20 GP to move three spaces. Special circumstances may arise in the game where your characters will be allowed to move past this limit. If you're unsure, just assume you can only move three. Also, as a special bonus: If you have more than one player on a space, you can move the 'group' for the price of one.

I'm not sure how this qualifies as a special circumstance other than the fact we can move 2 spaces instead of 1, but even if we still get 2 extra spaces, I don't think I could have made it in between them.

And I go back to when I remember Dan T making the same request we did. I'm pretty sure he was given the shortest route possible

That's exactly what I'm saying :)

SK4's power shouldn't be included in the fight there.

Da_man counted SK4's power because he thought we ended up in between SK2,3,5 and SK4, but the fact of the matter is that we ended up beneath SK2,3,5.

XC1,2,3,4,5 = 2 Blitz Swords + 3 Regular Swords = 7 Attack Power
SK3,4,5 = 3 Blitz Swords = 6 Attack Power

XC beats SK.

why? he simply respawned with a sword. all 4 were diagonally by you. you initiated a battle with all 4.

Your exact words

Move all XCs within range to attack SK2,3,5 at any expense for extra moves. (close as possible)

You didn't say up and over one. He put you in range. You just didn't expect s4 to kill you.

How is SK4 diagonally by me?

Da_man said SK4 did not move, therefore it is impossible to include his power. Besides, you have to be directly next to the person to attack them, not diagonal

you went to a slot diagonally next to sk4. YOU initiated an attack on his square. He doesn't have to move to initiate an attack. He was right there.

But how did I do that? I went diagonal, right to the space underneath SK2,3,5.

Even if it was played out as going up, then left instead of diagonal, that still doesn't initiate battle.

I don't think I understand what you're saying.

Did you specifically say UP 2 and diagonally up to the left? NO.
You said: Move all XC AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE to SK 23 and 5. You did NOT say how da_man should move you. You left that to him. Because of that, he moved you up straight 3 spaces and the presence of xc 4 combined with the other 3 killed you.
