I just got a new mobile, a Motorola A835 - which is a third generation phone. It allows you to watch video clips of the news, weather, mtv, film trailers or comedy. You can get a Global positioning system, so you can get a street map of where you are exactly, with all road names, local pups/cashmachines and other resources on, or even an A to B map, which will give you instructions on how to walk from one location to another, with maps to help you. You can send emails, download applications, go on the internet - at 400KBPS, broadband speed from almost anywhere. Oh and don't forget video calling - talk and look at the person you are calling. The phone itself cam record movie clips, take photos, has an mp3 player, infrared, bluetooth, GPRS, and 64MB of memory. And the phone itself was FREE. Quiet frankly, its pretty amazing. I know its only available in a handful of countries across the world, so I feel lucky to have access to it all. It therefor seems madness when I read a few weeks ago in the Times, that less than 1 million people in the UK have 3G phones, so I thought I would ask what you all think of them, and also whats stopping people from getting them. |

The phone was free on contract, which is £25 a month. But the first 3 months are half price line rental, and you get £100 back after 6 months, so it works out about £14 a month for the first year, for 500 anytime, any network minutes - which is by far the best mobile tariff in the UK
