I do believe in ghosts.

My Grandad Died recently and ever since whenever we take photos of our living room there is always a orb on the place where he used to sit.

Also I feel rather pathetic because I don't dare look in mirrors at night.

The old saying: Look in a mirror at night and see two red lights (eyes)

I have looked at myself in the mirror when it is dark and have never seen any eyes.

I lived with a couple once... They've followed us everywhere we went afterwards :\
It gets really scary, but they don't like when I talk about them. :(
I might get into trouble.

I do, but have never seen one (though I believe that ghosts more-so show their presence through sound than visually - in which case I guess they're spirits (?)). There are some things that just can't be explained easily. A few months ago, my mom and dad were talking in our living room while I lay sound asleep in my own room. Our living room is adjacent to the kitchen (but behind a wall) and as they spoke they swear they heard someone walk into the kitchen. They figured it was me, but when they called and recieved no answer, they got up to investigate and found nobody in the kitchen as well as myself still asleep. Now, you might say, "well it could've been a creek in the floor" or "maybe you're parents hear things." Well, you could be right, but I'm sure your house makes distinct sounds too — you can probably tell the difference between a creak caused by the expanding of wood and a creak caused by someone walking on it. Also, my dad (a very large ghost skeptic) would have been the first to deny hearing anything. He admits to hearing something, but can't explain the cause.

There have also been some other odd happenings in my house that I couldn't explain, and I've heard many stories from friends who've had personal experiences. Now I'm sure a large part of what some people claim to see or hear are simply part of their imagination. You can also forget about those ghost shows on TV — most (if not all) of them are staged. But nevertheless, I still believe there are ghost/spirits out there.

If they show themseleves, they are a ghost. If they do something to let you know of their presence, they are a spirit.

I believe in ghosts. Last year, around halloween I got a screen capture of what I believe to be is one.
I have also felt something "strange" on an old ship...before I found out that almost 200 years ago, a sailor died near where I had the strangest feelings.
I also have seen something I can only discribe as a ghost, or an omen  . It happened when I was a teen ager. I think I posted the story somewhere else here

I do not believe in ghosts. Unless of course by "ghosts" you mean my Uncle Earl dressing up in a bed sheet running around the backyard on Halloween. If that's the case, then ghosts are very real and we should all be terrified.

I don't really have an Uncle Earl...

I have a story about that!!
A year ago in my old neighborhood, during Halloween, there was this kid going around trick-or-treating. And he was dressed up in a homemade ghost costume, and you could tell he was a ghost, but the way the hat was sown it looked like a KKK costume. :P
It was evilly funny.

I do believe in ghosts/spirits/whatever just like things that are here have a different form than us and are dead, and I've seen/heard a few of them.

To me, I guess they are just people who made a deal with the devil to come back to earth to take care of their unfinished business.

Once my friend was over and I heard this breathing off tune with my own, so we both held our breath and the noise was still there but he says he heard nothing.

And then this other time I walked into my brothers room while he was gone, to get something, and I looked out the window ( it was dark out ) and I saw this very faint image of a man riding a horse and he was riding off to the moon and he tipped his hat off to me and then I felt this shock and I woke up a few hours later and apparently I had passed out.

A lot of my friends have had experiences with them too, no story I've ever heard from them was ever violent.

Yup, When I die. I am coming back in the form of a ghost or spirit. I have some unfinished business to take care of.

But still your story is freaky. I liked the one where you said the guy was riding a horse and tipped his hat to you. Classic.

I have also heard heavy breathing too and I ask if anyone is there and I get no response. I even hold my breath and it is still there. I just have never seen a ghost.

Has it not occured to you that what you saw was relating to the fact you passed out?

Does anyone here agree with me thats its an amazing co-incidence most ghost sightings happen at night? When the brain is tired and more likely to make mistakes? When the eyes are also tired, and if its dark you'll only be able to see in black and white. Everyone knows that peripheral vision is somewhat dodgy as well.

There is no scientific proof for ghosts. None. Zilch. Zero.

Definitely a good point, tv shows like most haunted are just there for entertainment, to make money. Deceitful tactics really. :P Go to WHsmith or any shop that sells magazines and one that happens to be about ghost sightings or pictures of sightings. And again, money making. Life can seem a little boring at times, and something like this can spice it up. ;)

Yeah I pointed that out on the last page... Only stated that it normally happens when some one is in a sub-sleep level...
