I have a question about feeds in IE7. (Yes, I view my subscribed feeds with IE7's built-in feed reader. Try not to complain. )

One of my subscribed feeds is set to check for updates every day. But that seems to be too slow, so Im thinking about changing the update time to every 4 hours or lower. My problem is I dont want to do that if it will bog down my other programs every 4 hours. So, my question is does IE7 update the feeds even when IE isnt open? Or does it only update when youre using it?
