I thought it might be interesting if anyone who writes a diary and doesn't mind anyone reading a bit of it would post an entry here. Obviously don't post something you don't want us to read. Or maybe you might like to post something you wouldn't show to people you know but don't mind strangers doing. It could be a funny entry, are really sad one, unusual one. Whatever. Or it might be an idea to post one that best represents a typical day in your life.

Nothing offensive of course. Also mention your diary keeping habits such as how often you write in it, what time and when you started etc. If you don't post an entry from it but write a diary feel free to tell us about your diary habits aswell.

I don't keep one but i like to be nosey. I'm going to stop talking now and hand over to you guys.

I have a few, but they are personal. Which is what a diary or journal is isnt it?

I think most people would agree with me here. Even though there are some that would share their own personal things (I wouldn't though)

No offense. But we all do have our own rights to privacy ;)

I Have kept a diary since I was about 11 years of age and still do I and I am 21 now. Even though a lot of people say what do you do that for it's stupid blah blah, I find it a way to vent without actually speaking. I honestly feel writing down some of those most inner thoughts and feelings can really help you cope through rough times. Keeping one has most certainly helped me get through a lot of stuff.

I wouldn't ever share what is inside though I use it as a get away, A place to say things i wouldn't in everyday life. A place to say things that don't necessarily need to be said to anyone. Its also a good way to track yourself through the years, I love going back and reading old entries from years ago. It's really great when you can see yourself how much you have grown.

Obviously diary/journal keeping isn't for everyone I think i like it so much because i love to write, Writing in itself relaxes me so keeping a diary helps even more when i am getting those hard things out.

I kept one a long time ago. It's a great way to relax and just let everything out.

But then you start to become comfortable with it and start writing really personal things in there, and I just realized one day that if someone ever got to it and read anything in it, I'd want to die :P So I set it on fire and I was done with that. :D

I used to have a diary but it became a bit burdening, now at the end of my day I just take time to reflect. I still write down all my dreams though..

No, it isn't. In a few decades, had you kept a diary, you can look back and read what you were doing or thinking on a certain day/date or at a certain age.

But no, I don't keep a diary.

Diaries. I used to keep one. For about a year when i was 6. Obviously the material that came out of that was not something to cherished. I had contemplated keeping a diary for a while until i decided not too because of the label that society puts on it as being girly.
I can see the benefits of keeping one however. Although it may never be any Anne Frank diary, it maybe enjoyed by grandchildren or otherwise. Also I think that having a diary to fall back on after a hard day must be quite comforting. Some nonjudgmental medium for your deepest emotions...
It must be nice ^_^

I started keeping diaries when I was 8-9 years old and I still do. I love that when the world is up side down for me and I've got no one to talk to, all I need to do is open it and write down all what happened or/and what I feel and nobody will judge me for it and nobody will find out. It's like a true secret keeper and I just simply trully love it.

Yep sure Which is why i asked if people would like to share it and only a small section. something they're happy to share. Diaries aren't al full of dark secrets and your inner most feelings. You might have a funny story or just a description of a really mundane day.
