Call me a silly conservative, but I think Trelawney is and old bat, and only the prophecies the book tells us are true are true.

After all, she must have heard how clumsy Neville is, and she could have sort of made Hermione leave (by being extra annoying that day). As for the book 6 thing... she always predicts disaster, doesn't she? So when a disaster happens, she gets credit? I don't think so.

Some of the things she spews probably don't deserve much merit, that's a given, but they can be quite accurate. I mean, it's whether you believe they are added for reason or if they simply hold no key significance, and J.K. Rowling does like to blend real significance into the plot.

Call it scraping the barrel, but she does screech at Umbridge that something terrible will happen to her, and when she's taken away by the Centaur's she returns quite dazed and clearly isn't herself. :P

On the link I gave you, they also speculate that Trelawney could be mixing Harry's future with someone else's. They speculate Lord Voldemort, since Voldemort and Harry are linked. So it's possible that she's predicting Voldemort's death.

She has the "inner eye," but she is a bit loopy, which makes it very possible that she misinterprets her visions.

;) It's the "Harry Potter" thread, I found this on another board, they say it's the real thing  but you can't be sure(I had a"script" to the new batman movie too, (earlier this year)but I didn't make a copy of that, and the guy that originally put it up, took it down, I should have copied it :-/ )

It's very real. Harry calls Dumbledore "Al" quite frequently.

I opened it thinking it was something else, and once I reacted, I just closed the window as fast as I could and breathed :ermm:

I'm intrigued by McGonagall. She went to school with Tom Riddle, has anybody noticed that? She is one of my favourite characters, and I'd like to see her in some dueling combat. :P

Some have suggested she's a Death Eater.

Haha, I think she's one of the characters that really don't have any hidden secrets ready to pop out and be a major thing.

In the first book, I got the sense that she was one of the most powerful. I think it's probably because as the books progress you get to meet the actual true wizards - Dumbledore, Voldemort, Snape, etc. I do hope we get to see her duel in Deathly Hallows though.

Right after I saw it I started reading it  I will forget what it says very easily anyway and I'll have a translated version, which is a bit different. I don't think that's the real end though. It's too mushy to be true
