Which emotion is it when you feel emotionless? Where you feel like you have no soul. You try to be sad, but can't cry, try to get mad, but cant blow a fuse, try to be depressed, but it wont let you, and happiness is out of the picture.

Seek the right medical attention and discuss it with that DR.

Apathy is normally a sign of depression. Depression really doesn't oft manifest itself as feeling sad for yourself, as most people would expect and as the overblown diagnoses of it would make one think. True depression has more to do with apathy than anything else.

There was a time in my life where (in hindsight) I would say I was quite depressed. It only lasted for about a month, and I moved passed it just fine, but still, it was there.

I'd say most everyone goes through this at one time or another. The problem is that one must maintain a line between depression (apathy) and sadness (active feeling).

And you really don't need to see a doctor over it, unless it's something being caused by a chemical imbalanced, but I doubt it is. Most people overplay depression.

It's really just a state of mind in my opinion.

To an extent, yes. Often times it is good to see a therapist though. There are many situations in which talking to someone who knows how to ask the right questions is a good idea. Medication, however, is something that I too think is given out a bit too freely.
