I've listened to other peoples reasons why they thought there was no God and all of that and found it to be pathetic and selfish. But I still had respect for them because it was their decision, I just disagreed. I'm tired of arguments like this because everyone thinks they are right, so I'm removing myself from this topic of discussion because I don't need to constantly justify why I believe what I do and neither do any of you else.

Makes perfect sense not to take part in something if you don't enjoy it so I'm with you on that one. However, I see this much more as a discussion bordering debate (not quite organized enough for true debate format) than an argument. I actually enjoy reading all the replies and defending my views, asking of others' views so I like the topic - but I can see why you wouldn't like it and your reasons for avoiding them :)

[edit] On a side note I know I'm in the minority but I find nothing wrong with selfishness. I probably don't define being selfish the same way as most people...But I find it perfectly honorable to stand up for yourself (which is selfish) because why shouldn't you love yourself just as much and more than those around you...Afterall you are you not anyone else.

Get your bible and show the exact quote. Yes he does tecah that through his blessing you will reach hevan, but not to worship him. he tells us to tecah his tecahings, and not preach. teach not preach. There is a difference. jesus was not a god, nor did he ever claim to be god. Of God yes. But we al are of God. That is in Genisus.

Also, My cousin is a minsiter so I know all about it. He said that as long as you believe that Jesus sacrficed himself for you you will go to hevan. I believe he died on the cross to get the final message he was tecahing us across.

Do I believe in jesus? yes. I believe he was sent to tceha us by the Gods. He was given the body of a man. He was gieven the knowlage of the Gods. His mission was to tecah us.

The last verse of Matthew. That's the great commission. Go into all the world and preach the gospel.

Jesus did claim to be God, you're cousin doesn't know what he's talking about if he denies it.

So, I guess nobody has stated the evolution theory...>_> maybe you did i just didnt see it.

Although I dont personally believe it, it is possible for science and Faith to go hand in hand if you think about it. God could have created the things possible for all this to occur, the supercondensed ball of matter, the process of evolution, the shift in our earths atmosphere to allow aerobic beings to exist. But can you prove that? That seems to be the biggest debate.

You can look at the Earth today and say it's gods creation. But really...it was merely a process of transformation from a wasteland, an atmosphere of harmful gases, that, through various organisms living in the sea, gradually became oygenated. Evolution is known to occur. Whether it applies to humans is unknown but cant be disproved.

The debate over science and faith is endless. No side will ever truly win. Science is a fact. God is a being of faith. If you have faith then obviously you would believe in his reality. I believe the debate over which is better, or which can be proven is pointless. You can supply facts to a person, but their personal beliefs outweigh that. Is it wrong for them to beileve either way? Atheism, Agnosticism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Shintoism, Confucianism, polytheism. Different underlying principles in each. But are you right in denying those principles? Can you really tell someone who is Buddhist, or Shinto, that THEY are wrong? They dont believe in a god...yet they have their own faith.

'Point: this debate is really meaningless. There is no end, no answer, to the questions that are proposed in it. You cant try to change someone else's beliefs because they arent teh same as yours. If that were the case then that would destroy one of the main, separating values of humans, the ability to think for themselves, make their own decisions(though it doesnt always happen >_<).

Evolution. Its odd to think about it. As for jesus claiming to be God, nio he never actually did, but he did say that he was the father on the flesh. Thats basically saying that he is God.

My family is something that starts with a p. Pres something. It's like being Christian. Lately I don't want to believe in God. I don't like the idea that someone's controlling my life.
