While those statements might be true your learning to apply steps that once refined can make your work look great.

1. Icky, image is stretched and text isn't easy to read. Not much good here...

2-3. These I can see something in. You have finally stepped away from the text that you always use. This text looks slightly better. The brushing and fade from the image are good even though some might not like it. The green one is the best because the image looks more refined but I would still select the image layer and hit CTRL + B and add some yellow highlight to it. This would make it look better.

1= 3/10
2= 7/10
3= 6/10

Getting better, keep experimenting...
