For me the only way to cheat my way out of a lap was to take my time and run one less lap than I was supposed to and say I did them all.  Usually classes were big enough to where the teacher had no way to prove a student wrong so yeah...I'd just say my 3rd lap was my 4th and be done  I hate running.

In our elementary school, we had to run 600m, and for each lap (100m long) we recieved a popsicle stick. I couldn't cheat out of that, unless I asked the marathon runner-kid for his sticks. He gladly ran my 600m and still got done faster than me.

P.S.: Running sucks. I'd rather play badmitton. >_> <_<

Oh I guess our teachers were too dumb to think of using sticks or something to keep track of it

I always hated missing PE as much as I hated the class...For every day you missed you had to run a mile, do push ups, sit ups, pull ups, etc. It sucked.

Keh, "Motivation" gone very very wrong. My heart bleeds for you. :(

Can't you use an excuse letter from, say, a doctor friend of your parents?

Well the last time I had to take PE was freshmen year of high school so I've been done with it for nearly 5 years :P

However, I did miss 2 weeks (by my actual doctor's orders because of a hip injury) but.....I had to make it all up after school once I recovered running many, many miles.

I don't get it. Why would you do that, then be mad about the consequence? I would have never stopped running in the first place.

I'm angry they make PE manditory to be honest. I didn't go to school to get into shape, I go to study and learn (not about sports either)...It should be a choice of the parents if you ask me. But hey that's just my opinion.

our "PE" here at MC consisted of many different choices, except the first one, I had to do all of these

Climb an Alpine Tower *
Caveing - fun
Rock Climbing
Mountain Hike

There's more, can't think of any though. The rock climbing isn't as easy as it seems, and "Mountain hike isn't 29,000 feet up climbing, but the base of the Smokey Mountains isn't easy either.

Yeah, but it's also important for us to be in shape. If they didn't make PE manditory then our next generation of kids would all be overweight.

Not necessarily. I loved to dance and was fit, but I still hated PE. Like I said I think it should be up to the parent, that way if the child needs it they can take it, but it wouldn't be manditory for those who enjoy other sports/physical acitivies and really don't need to waste another school hour running laps when they could be learning something useful :P
