but really, how many "goths" do you think are really into gothdom? worshiping the darkness and whatnot (im not going to try to pretend like i understand it...) and how many do you figure just wear the balck and all to just to get a reaction?

Can't really say until you talk to them. Then again, how many people are you labeling goth without asking them if they consider themselves one? I've been labeled goth time and time again but I never considered myself one (aside from jokingly and I was goth on halloween once  ). I have however 'dressed up' for shock value. It's my anthropology side, I love getting peoples' reactions. This is much more than wearing just black though which I do on regular basis just because it's my favorite color. When I had my friend(s) walk me on a leash at the mall, that was for reactions and shock no denying it. I did it once with a male friend, and once with a female to see how people reacted in the different scenarios.

I don't mind preps, but it's annoying when they're listening to their 40 gig iPod, with their $200 jeans and $400 jackets (I'm exaggerating, but you get the idea) and they claim to hate preps.

Why? They can wear what they want and buy what they want...its their money and their style. Same with ganstas, goths, punks, skaters, etc.

I judge people for who they are, not what they wear.

I'm positive he meant those that at one day discover Hot Topic or another store like it, learn they like the clothes, change their wardrobe to a punk one from one day to another and then think they're totally punk because of their outfit, while they probably can't even spell anarchy, much less define or seek it.

But they brag about how they're parents spend all this money and buy them all this stuff, and they have a $50 allowance.

Well, not all do. My neighbor is a really cool person and he's a prep. But yes I agree, some are very ignorant.

I'm becoming increasingly irritated with people ignorantantly dissing a culture they don't know anything about. :ermm:

ditto. respect 4 sheex <3

personally i cudn't care less what other people think / do / how they act. it's their own choice and shoudn't be up for debate as it is all just opinion anyway and their are no right / wrong answers.

but i do feel if you are only following a stereotype and don't actually know , in detail, the subject of which you are discussing you should shut up and walk away before you get in over your head.

I hate the pants down to the knee's and the 4 pairs of boxers hanging out, along with the bigass shirts. Like they'll have a black one, then a pink one, then a white one, and then all of them are size like XXXXL <_<
