OK, this comes from a non-biased stand point (because i have BOTH PSP and DS) I love them both to death.

OK, DS is good. An EXTREMELY poor launch line really screwed it over. Luckily they are starting to come out with good fun/addicting games (i.e. Wario Ware Touched, and Yoshi's Touch and Go). BUT, as of this moment PSP is better for a few reasons:

1. Much better launch line up
2. Works on Wi-Fi networks so you can play virtually anyone in the city that has the same game as you.
3. PSP has other forms of Multimedia on it.
4. The graphix are 100x better

And now i'm going to smash a few hearts here that only believe rumors. PSP does NOT have bad battery life. I watched all of Spiderman 2 on it (comes free with it) then played a game on it for about 2 hours without the battery dieing. IMO thats not bad battery life. The memory sticks i do hate, but i don't really care much about them (although i have recently used virtually all the memory on it to upload 6 mp3's.

PSP also comes with an amazing sample disk that includes:
- 8 music videos that are all beautiful to watch
- 7 movie previews of upcoming movies
- 9 game previews of the games from the launch of the PSP

At the moment PSP has got the edge over the DS but don't give up on DS. The thing that really gives sony the edge IS the ability to play on Wi-fi networks. DS can only play people within 100 feet of your DS. But something that sony didn't have that i was surprised about, was a chat feature like the DS has (Pictochat).

Well comments?

Yea I have a comment.

I have a comment too:

If I wanted to carry a movie theater around with me, I'd be stupid. I'm a gamer. I can go to the movies for $2 to $5.50 a person, or watch them on DVD, not buy them because of some desperate gimmicks.

I think that the whole "touch screen" thing on the DS is just an excuse to charge more money. As for the wireless capability, only time will tell if it will be a success or not.

Yes, PSP fans are ones to talk about charging more money.

O those were some good points there. Yea the PSP costs more money.....

The PSP doesn't have any orignality. There is all ready a portable music player and DVD player. Also some digital cameras are thinner than some cell phones. The DS has so much originality. Have you ever seen two screens on a portable electonic? How about one of those screens being touchable.

i know they made the Game & Watch... its just that its no longer original if they are basing it on something... even if they created the base...

i never said the PSP was orginal... i know it isnt... its just the more powerful of the two...

It's based on something, it isn't that something, one screen is completely innovated into a touch screen is a much obvious change, the PSP dosen't really have anything unique about it, a Laptop can do all the PSP can and more, but not many laptops have a touch screen to aid in gameplay :S

Well, last night I have tried both a DS and a PSP for the same amount of time, and I'd have to stick with the PSP for certain reasons. One being that the PSP's screen is HUGE. It's nearly bigger than both of the DS's combined. Second, the lighting on the DS was a bit... "fuzzy" for me, while the PSP's was outstanding. Third, the game I had played on the DS was Super Mario DS, and having to "touch" the screen was getting annoying, while the PSP's game, that monkey catch game, was pretty simple to operate.

Acctually I never use the touchscreen on Mario DS. You must have had touch mode on because you can use the control pad to move.....

Well, when I first turned it on, I had to touch the screen inorder to get to the game, and to "Save and Continue" I had to touch the screen.

Quite funny how Phyrro asks for no fanboyism but whenever someone says something about how they like the PSP, he replies with a sort of "DS is still better" type of post.

I chose the PSP due to many reasons. First, its launch titles. DS has good titles, well, one or two, but thats it. PSP had many. Games like Twisted Metal and Wipeout are examples of games that keep you thrilled for a couple of weeks. Super Mario 64 DS is just SM64 with 3 more characters. The fact that once you beat the game and there is nothing else to do makes this game kind of lame. If it had more minigames at the end of the game then it would have had more replay value but it doesn't.

Then I will go on to online support. For DSers, you will have to wait to play online. As for the PSP owners, you get WiFi support once you buy the handheld. Just connect it to a wireless point and set it up and boom you have online. A specific game would Twisted Metal. Some of you may have heard of it and some may have not. All in all, its a pretty fun game. What online game does the DS have, PictoChat? I have AIM.

One thing that bugs is that most of you DS fanboys hate the idea of having music, pictures, and movies in it. Well, would you rather buy SEPERATELY an mp3 player, a portable DVD player, and maybe some type of picture viewer? You would be carrying around a crapload of stuff compared to the PSP.

Basically, the DS to me like an N64 thats handheld and with an added two screens and touch screen.

I'm still getting a PSP.
