For those of you who are total graphics wh0res and really don't want to listen to a word I say, listen to Craig from IGN.

Craig
DS Channel; IGN.com
he headset image wasn't official by any means...just something to attract attention and get people to click on the story. If you actually read the story (which didn't have a set of headphones anywhere in it), you'd see that it was speculation from an analyst, not official news from Nintendo. As for visuals, yes, the DS is very capable in 3D...especially with a lower resolution (256x192) to work with. And a smaller screen size means that the 3D doesn't really need filtering to smooth out the edges, so developers can put those extra processing cycles into increasing poly count or framerate.

-- Craig

You notice that only one game out for DS now that is even close to being worth playing is 3D? At this moment, there's only three ( :P ), but it's SM64DS, which got an 8.9 from IGN. Now, reading that, it's easy to see why you're all bitcHing about no graphics. One, you just can't admit that the DS might not be crap (I'm making no comparisons to PSP in this argument, I want to know why you just can't say that the DS at least looks like a good system), and two, Yoshi Touch & Go (8.8) and Wario Ware: Touched! (8.5) are made from 2D sprites or images, not 3D renders. And I have no problem with that, because 2D sprites are some of the coolest ways to look at games, and Yoshi Touch & Go is a good game regardless. So I think you should move on and wait until more games come out to judge the true graphical capabilities of this system.

That's my opnion. Commence flaming and shooting down in 3...2...1.

Quite funny how Phyrro asks for no fanboyism but whenever someone says something about how they like the PSP, he replies with a sort of "DS is still better" type of post.

I chose the PSP due to many reasons. First, its launch titles. DS has good titles, well, one or two, but thats it. PSP had many. Games like Twisted Metal and Wipeout are examples of games that keep you thrilled for a couple of weeks. Super Mario 64 DS is just SM64 with 3 more characters. The fact that once you beat the game and there is nothing else to do makes this game kind of lame. If it had more minigames at the end of the game then it would have had more replay value but it doesn't.

Then I will go on to online support. For DSers, you will have to wait to play online. As for the PSP owners, you get WiFi support once you buy the handheld. Just connect it to a wireless point and set it up and boom you have online. A specific game would Twisted Metal. Some of you may have heard of it and some may have not. All in all, its a pretty fun game. What online game does the DS have, PictoChat? I have AIM.

One thing that bugs is that most of you DS fanboys hate the idea of having music, pictures, and movies in it. Well, would you rather buy SEPERATELY an mp3 player, a portable DVD player, and maybe some type of picture viewer? You would be carrying around a crapload of stuff compared to the PSP.

Basically, the DS to me like an N64 thats handheld and with an added two screens and touch screen.

I'm still getting a PSP.

Does Nintendo purposely make there systems crap so you have to buy more? No you don't get disk read errors from a DS because they don't use disks first of all and Nintendo isn't some money hog that makes there system cheap so you have to buy another system. O and wait what happens if you get a dead pixel? Does Sony give you a free new one? No Nintendo does. What about the battery life? 2 hours. :haha: Yea right. <_< I'll get a DVD and have 4 times the amount of battery life. MY iPOD MINI HAS BETTER BATTERY LIFE!

EDIT: O and just look at my sig. :r

So basically you're calling the PS1, PS2, and PSP crap? Shut up you fanboy.

Now you may get disk read errors but thats normal for a scratched up disk. Too bad I have heard of no such reports for the PSP so stop trying to exaggerate stuff.

Dead pixels? I heard DS also had them so quit complaining about our system and complain about yours. And Sony doesn't give you a free PSP, the game store where you purchased it gives it you. And screw the battery life. Who actually plays a handheld for more than 2 hours? Get a life. And good luck buying the DVD, it will cost you more and also the Ipod will as well(but maybe not as such since its price it $199 or $99?)

Wow, disks popping out. So far, I haven't heard not once of a disk flying out of the PSP. But if you get one with disk popping action then thats your problem. This is also a pic DS fanboys most cherish. So that when a when a DS fanboy gets crushed because a PSPers opinion, he instantly wips out the disk popping pic. Too bad its getting old.

A portable system is for people who want to have somethign to do in a 6 hour road trip, the PSP fails in being able to provide htat. Of course no one likes you long enough to be in a car with you, so you wouldn't know now would you

The PSP doens't have scrached disks? WOW!!! Neither does the DS ;) The DS isn't even capable of having a bad read is it?

And Jarret, PSP has been reported to have many many more with them than DS.

Now you shutup and get a life Sony fanboy :D

(Why must people refer to hating Nintendo because they aren't smart enough to beat their early SNES games? :()

Only a true idiot could get as worked up over it as you Jarret. A lot of people get handhelds, a.k.a portables (you didn't know that, so I thought I'd let you know) to use on the go. You're right, they usually aren't used for more than two straight hours at a time, but I can go without charging my DS for up to a week after having played it about 1.5 hours every day. I'd love to have to come home and charge my PSP every time I've played it an hour to three hours, just to make sure it doesn't run out next time I leave the house or do anything.

And, this is the funny part, my PS2 doesn't work. None of my games have scratches. My PS2 (yes Jarret, my PS2) is having disk read errors and won't read any games I own, even the new ones with no dust or scratches. I'm going to laugh if (you heard me, if, not when, so keep it to yourself) that happens to someone and their PSP.

EDIT: Changed to better terminology.

Whatever happened to the car charger?

And maybe some extra batteries will ease the pain...

DS has cartidges which if you don't take of they will get dusty inside(I believe it happened with my SNES cartidges)and you won't be able to play with them unless you blow inside of the them.

Newsflash, I have a life. I go to school, do my homework, play golf, and have fun. Plus, i'm not a Sony fanboy. I own a Gamecube and an Xbox and equally enjoy the both.

See, there's something that can increase your vocabulary. It's called reading. Anyone that thinks you must have a bright light in your face every time you're on a car trip seriously needs their heads checked. I have plenty of fun playing games with my family on long trips.

Plus, the PSP can last you 6 hours.

The PS2 WAS crap, it broke 3 times and got sent back from some repair shop twice. Another time it fell over from standing upright and broke! So shut up YOU SONY FANBOI!

The DS's deadpixels arent as bad as the PSP. I heard the PSP has HUGE circles of dead pixels taking up to (at most) 1/5 of the screen. I have a friend (named Joewnn) who could back that up! And your telling us about getting a life, are you not the one who just flamed someone over a handheld? HMMMM speak for your self. More importantly, the DSers opinions are based on facts, while you stupid Sony Dic-I mean fanboys say randomized thoughts such as "ITS SUCK)RZ!" and "2 screens sucks, widescreen da Pwnz!"

Yeah, its like that.

Wow, blow in a DS game to fix it, buy a cd cleaner for $20 to halfway fix a PSP cd, see a comparison there?

You forgot to add [/geek]

I can do lots of stuff on trips. It's good to have my DS though, so I dunno what your point there was.

Secondly, the PSP lasts a little less than five hours when being played under normal circumstances. My DS has lasted me up to twelve, nine at least. Now, back to reality. Commence re-flaming and re-shooting down in 3...2...1.

It wasn't towards you, first of all.

Anyone that needs to play video games for 12 hours straight needs a new life. I understand you don't play it through, but when you're done with the PSP, you can let it re-charge, while you do stuff. I remember my GBA having only 5 hours, and I was perfectly fine with it.

Um...if you actually thought I played it for 12 hours straight you might need to find an easier debate. Twelve hours total, as in it lasted me about a week and a half without recharge. I think that's pretty cool.

Portable systems are made to be played portably, I for one hate my fmaily, can't stand them, nothing is better to me on a road trip than a game system, either that or slep, it's a flip between the two. So yeah, some people do play it that long due to no other willing options.

Please read in bold. :P Yes that does seem pretty cool, but I usually play a game for 4 hours a day, so the PSP's battery fits my life, and I can charge it overnight.
