DS, I just got it and I love it because it's aimed at gamers rather than having obscene stats just to ge tpeople to buy. It costs alot less.
The games are more fun as Nintendo games usually are.

Calm down, people, it's not like it's war or something. Just a handheld console.
You want a portable console with a huge launch line, great graphics, ability to store more MP3s than an iPod and the ability to play movies, as well as e-mail, messenger, and word processing? It's out already. It's called a laptop.

Remember: God hates console fanboys.

Good Point.

DS.
I have a DS and Super Mario 64.Worth it alone. :) . Then there's Wario Ware Touched, and the upcoming awesome games Metroid Prime Hunters, Mario Kart DS, Advance Wars DS, Nintendogs...

Sure, I havent played a PSP yet, but I can say that the DS costs less, and has better games plus backwards compatibilty with GBA.
The PSP(Which I woulda bought had it not costed more and been delayed for so long...)'s launch lineup, as far as I have seen, has really only got:
A Scaled Down Fifa
A Scaled Down Need For Speed
A Scaled Down THUG 2

As half decent games. The other lot(with the exception of Spidey 2) appear to SUCK.

And its not backwards compatible, so my hopes of playing PES 4 on car journeys are dashed. At least until it gets released on PSP.

So there ya go.

How can the PSP be backwards compatible, when nothing came out before it?

PS2?

Is DS backwards compatible with GameCube or Nintendo 64? I don't think so.

ps, ps2, psp

n64, gamecube, ds

PS sounds like it shoudl be compatible, it's all named the same console basically, Nintendo has entirely new names for all its cnosoles, except the gameboys, which the newer ones always work with the older

Like usual the psp blows ds out of the water with more capabilities and better games, making ds look like nothing more then a childs toy.

like usual? this is the first time either have been introduced, and nintendo has never had any REAL competition in the handheld area(well...gamegear...but do you see gamegear anymore? no)

i say DS. and for all those saying "whomg psp has audio and video playbaclk so it are better gaming system LOL!Z im cool!"

DS will have an audio/(video is questionable, though info WAS released) playback kit out for it, just as the GBA had an audio playback kit...so meh.

<_< DS..

I just remembered that. Gameboy games (same cartridges, black and white) were compatible with GameBoy Color, GBC with GameBoy Advance, and GBA with DS. That's kinda cool. I love backwards compatibility. At this point in time, 4/5 of the time I spend on my DS is GBA games, 1/5 DS games and settings and chatting.

Despite having been an avid Nintendo believer the past decade, the PSP beats the DS hands-down. I mean, sure the DS has some classic games which I relished back in the 90's, but times have changed and I think Sony has realized that. Everything that the PSP offers, the games, the experience, the visuals, I prefer over the DS.

And having played one for the past week when I was in Japan, I can say that the PSP will have better games (they are released earlier in Japan than here in the US)
