I recognize that the PSP does have the DS beat in "Home Entertainment Features".

Kind of like my VCR, iPod, and digital camera? :o

I've never been a fan of Nintendo so I wouldn't buy the DS.

I don't like the look of the PSP so I won't buy it.

Has anyone else noticed that little by little, modern gaming is going downhill? Not to say that games these days are not great, because they are, coming from all parties. I have always been a nintendo lover, and I always plan to be (I'm getting Revolution first no matter what) However, I'm not the kind of person who is going to isolate myself to nintendo. I own both a Ps2, and an X-box, and in a lot of cases I'm dissapointed. The race for the next generation console is a death sentence if you ask me. The rush to get better technology is the new thing these days... I could be wrong but, it doesnt seem like it's about the games anymore...

As I said, I own all 3 of the current generation consoles. And while I enjoy playing on all of them, each as plenty of flaws, and I'm not talking about the games. Faulty Disc drives on the ps2 and x-box's, Faulty power cables (X-box anyone?) Glitches that cause consoles to burn out. Gameplay freezes (happens on all of them), Crappy, or unecessary hardware (*cough*broadband adapter*cough*) It's ridiculous what goes on the market these days. All three companies are rushing to get their consoles out, and bugs like these are getting released with them. You'd think it'd be important to try and prevent issues like these from happening. I've gone through 2 x-box's, had to replace my ps2 due to a defective disc drive, and the only one that I havn't had too much trouble with, if any, is my gamecube (Thanks Nintendo!), however, I have to agree with a lot of people on this forum that nintendo needs to start thinking about the older audience. I'm all for family oriented games, hey it gets those idiots who link violence to video games away from gamers, but theres a point where you have to draw a line, and at least make a few for the teens. I think Nintendo is going in the right direction with Zelda, and I hope that that is as good as it looks, and that it doesnt pull a Halo 2. The worst thing I have to complain about is the market these days.

The "godlike" Psp launch is supposed to be a new generation for handhelds. And yet all I hear about it is, "It can play mp3s!", "You can play movies on it!", it has this, and that!, and oh! you can do this! The PS3, same deal. All anyone talks about is specs , and apparently, what makes a good console these days, is what completely uneccessary acessories you can get with. Now in order for a console to hit it big, it needs to play dvds, mp3s, have an enormous hard-drive. And lets not forget Backwards Compatibility. I'm sure you all remember the whole, "PS2 Rocks cas it can play ps1 games!" though I can say, it's a nice touch, but at the rate things are going, in a few years people are going to be complaining if their console doesn't make their coffee in the morning! Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it supposed to be about the games? Isn't the idea to make better games, new ideas, new ways to play? Improve on older aspects to a degree, and make Gaming better for the next generation? All I can see now is making the graphics a tiny bit better, making the loading time a few seconds slower, and adding multimedia to the gaming world. I respect Nintendo's decision to break from that, because to be honest, I'm Tired of it! Yeah, it's one thing to do it once or twice, but that seems the be the only point of the Console Wars now. Nintendo's choice to go for innovation with Revolution, in my opinion, is a nice break from what's expected for The next X-box, and Ps3. The only problem is, thats all the market seems to care about these days. While everyone here knows what I'm talking about, I'm Sure, the idiots out there don't know the difference, and they don't care. Gaming is becoming mainstream, and I don't have a problem with that, but I hate the fact that there are so many people who are oblivious to the whole thing. The only games they want are Madden, GTA, and whatever else is in the mainstream. There is sooo much more to offer, and there is SOOO much more potential. If the game makers and console creators would start focusing on better quality gameplay, and new ideas for gaming, rather than a better processor, or a little bit more ram, the possibilities for the future of gaming could be endless!

I think I've said enough on this... Thanks for reading, and sorry it probably took you ten mintues to read all this X_X

Thats exactly why I respect Nintendo, for sticking to GAMES, and not needing all those stupid and useless retarded DVD players and such. Thats why I have a DVD player, to PLAY MY DVD'S.

The only way Nintendo could possibly get better is if they targeted a slightly higher audience.

Actually, that's REVOLUTION. Renegade is the wrong codename.

And unless you're a seer, which I highly doubt somebody with a bunny in their avatar is, you don't know that and for all we know (and hope) every X-Box 2 could blow up on release day.

The DS is REVOLUTIONARY <- Must I define the word for you? The PSP is NOTHING MORE THEN A CLUMPED TOGETHER GBA WITH REVVED UP GRAPHICS!

Might I remind you that touchscreens were around on portable systems before, like, say... the Palm Pilot? And the Tablet PC too?

There is nothing "revolutionary" about the DS or PSP. Really. That's all there is to it.

I don't own an Xbox or PS2, I only own a GC and a GBA. Why? Because both are simply azamzing at thwta they do, each have very unique and true games, not games where the point is to kill a hooker. I agree with teh above, I highly respect Nintendo for staying in the gaming industry, I don't see a point to playing DVDs, mp3s, viewing the internet, etc on a portable gaming system, thats what a laptop is for!

And to mindlessly shoot others who may be in their way, or piss them off, get the point? ;)

Glitch your wrong, with the DS comes amazing new possiblities for gameplay and a entire new gaming experience. It also allows for games where you can show your TRUE skill rather then just pressing a button. Especially drawing contests on Wario Ware Touched, cant wait for that! :P

And I'm not a Nintendo Fanboy, I'm a Gamer with Common Sense.
