ok..this wat happened, i was testing out SHOUTcast, and the firewall is keeping on blocking it, so i disabled the firewall on my connection, and tt's where the problem started. the radio did work, but my friend can't hear it properly, coz i have dial up, so i gave up. and my comptuer kinda froze, so i restarted....so it's going all good, i put up my firewall again...and then when ever i go some website, or even doing nothing, a random pop up will apear.. :S it's so annoying, and it's like "Search result for [some random thing]" and it kept on happening, so i thought my comp was infested with adware/spy wares, so i scaned the comp with 3 different programs..

- spy bot result: 0
- Adware result: 205 *all deleted*
- ewido result: didn't count..about 40+ most deleted...some says error while cleanign..

so i thought everything would be fine..but no...the pop ups kept on coming! :S wat's going on? help?>

The website has to add pop-up advertisements to pay for the free service they offer. There's not much you can do.

If the radio opens up in another window, then I doubt using firefox would be any good (since it may block it also), but it might.

Learn a lesson. ditch IE, get Opera.

Opera can block unwanted or all popups, so you could still see the popups you want to.

Use a different client to open up the raidio in. Use RealPlayer or Just do online streaming, not using Media Player. And for the love of god use FIREFOX

It doesn't stop the malware which causes the pop-ups in the first place though.
